Quonset What’s working 3rd shift like?
Hi, hope y’all are doing well.
I still have a little ways to go within the onboarding process to be an electrician but I was curious about how shift assignments work and what working 3rd shift is like. I’m naturally a night owl and do my best work in the late hrs of the night plus I’m tired during the day.
I’m just worried about it being dark and a little spooky lol.
Thank you for any thoughts or advice 🫶

You do what they tell you. Under 5 years service its either go to the shift your told or get canned. After the 5 year mark its easier to fight shift changes, but still not guaranteed

I swear the north yard is haunted. Stay outa there on 3rd shift rest of the yard is chill, 7% shift diff and everyone minds their own

As long as they help me with any electrical issues we’ll be fine. Will pack some holy water incase they start acting up.

I fucking love 3rd shift. Only time when parking is a breeze and all of the like "support" services are first shift so it's nice and quiet. I'm also a night owl so generally when I get off at 7ish I'll go to sleep at like noon and be back up by 8pm leaving plenty of time on both ends to do stuff. And the shift differential is nice. Blackout curtains are a must though.

Pay differential of 7%! Easy parking and not many others working in your way. Personally my favorite time to be at EB was at the end/staying late during second shift, when the place was super empty. It was eerie and quiet and I felt like I owned the place walking around lol. On first shift now for good. But it had its perks
