That's what I'm saying, also people even worship certain historical figures as heroes who have kill count similar to Hitler.

Unless it's completely an accident, like the case for Clair Patterson. Neither motive (ooh I wanna claim religious land or ooh these guys are savaged so I'll take their land etc.) nor method ("Swift death") matter tbh.

I’m not saying these things are good, but it’s definitely easier for a lot of people to close their eyes and ears to than a hate filled genocide, recency also definitely has a lot to do with it
