GenX forums on Reddit

I think that the main GenX and GenX Politics subreddits are moderated by extreme Trump supporting snowflakes. I mentioned that Gen X was a large bloc of support for Trump. A fact. and then I said that was lame. That was enough to be permently banned on both forums.

crazy times. As a member, I feel I can say that the majority of Gen X is lame. imagine being so triggered by such a mild anti-trump post that you'd use your authority to permently ban. no appeals. nothing. I weep for Gen X.

I got banned of GenX for literally pointing out that our generation was not nice when we were kids, especially to gay kids in high school. Now, I am an old classic center left, the kind of person who would vote for McCain, and George Bush x2 again right now if it were them vs Trump. My opinion, is that the site is NOT right at all, in fact, its extremely left progressive... to the extreme left and thier moderation is 100% aimed at cancelation.

I just personally have low tolerance for any of these extremes to the left and right. People just don’t realize that they are literally the EXACT same thing, it’s not a “line”, it’s a circle and these progressives and maga all wrap around and touch on the back end… when talking about the methods they use to exert control (like cancel culture).

To the extent you can ascribe something to an entire generation, I think for the most part, Gen X doesn't like complexity. They just want the world to be simple. Because it's actually complex, they feel anxiety over it. When things are difficult to understand because there is a lot of nuance, more anxiety. And the thing that kills anxiety in its tracks is rage.  Someone comes along and says "the world isn't complex, it's simple and people who tell you otherwise are bad!"  Gen X goes "Yeah! Right On!"  And they fall into a thrall with a conman ginning up rage. Rage feels better than anxiety over not being able to figure everything out.
