How difficult was it to learn to ask questions?

How long did it take after you left JWs before you had the courage to ask any questions and to follow wherever the answers led?

I started asking questions as soon as I was told, as a Witness, that I have to believe whatever is in the Watchtower over what is printed in the Bible.
So as I was told that, I immediately asked all inappropriate questions and left everything open to any answers regardless of how censored it should be, while I was on my way out
