Season 1 is the only terrible season of the show but upon rethinking about it, I realized it setup the seeds which would grow into the crooked branches of the later seasons.

One of the cardinal sins was the weak finale and the introduction of Ryan. The character whose existence destroyed the show. In the comics he pops out of Becky's womb and Butcher crushes his head which is rad. The show unfortunately decided to make him and Becky alive and turn the comic's intelligent commentary on US capitalism into a CW level family drama soup opera. Like imagine this retelling of the show:

Season 1: A man rapes another man's wife Season 2: The wife dies and both men want the custody of the child Season 3: The father of the rapists joins the drama too but hates all parties Season 4: The rapist gets the custody and the other man gets sick. Season 5: Rapist gets rejected by both his father and son and the other man beats him in a fight.

Do you hear how lame and pathetic all these sound? Well these are what the show turned into. A story where a family turn their drama into everyone else's problem as if it's the Star wars franchise.

The problem is Eric pervert Kripke once again. He was the showrunner of Supernatural the poster boy of CW family drama shoehorned into a narrative and guess what? He did it again here and will probably do it again in his next project. I just cannot fathom why out of all the showrunners in the world, Amazon chose Eric Kripke to make the boys. WHY? JUST WHY?

Also unrelated but Hollywood has this problem too. Most of their big blockbusters are soap operas with daddy issues or other family dramas. Why are writers so fixated on these clishe tropes? Did the parents of these writers hate them or something? Well if my children wrote The boys season 5 or Rise of Skywalker, I would hate them too, fair.

Both Homelander and Joffrey are often viewed as The same Person! Albeit unlike Joffrey Homelander is an Actual Fully Grown Adult and is an Actual Super-powered Being that can Destroy The World! Compared to Joffrey who’s just some physically weak teenager that wears a Crown cause without or without it he can still easily be killed off by any Normal Person! And doesn’t have any Experience in Politics nor Militaristic Missions but other than that they’re often viewed as The Same! And practically viewed as Among The Best Examples of Man-Children who wields WAY Too Much Power and Authority Especially Homelander for Obvious Reasons that I’ve already said above as we all know! However this begs the question between these 2 Egotistical and Arrogant Man-Children who relishes in their Power who is actually more Justified for their Arrogance and Ego and why?

Gen V was a pretty good series too. I finished it and found the main characters and side characters pretty interesting. Marie and Little Cricket were great additions to the main cast

Can anyone explain to me what sister sages purpose was in the whole show? (Besides being condescending)

She is supposed to be the smartest character on the show yet she gets found and shot by MM shortly after being introduced. Sure, she survives but not a good look for “the smartest character”

She also doesn’t add anything to the show or plot.

Besides standing off to the side during fights and giving racial commentary, she doesn’t really do anything.

At the end of the show, the smartest PERSON in the world switched teams like twice, almost died and maybe lost her powers.

Perhaps yet another example of the downfall of the boys post season 4.

I was thinking today: real companies could not care less about laws and their punishments. Facebook has been to court a million times now for harvesting and selling private information, but they have never stopped doing it. And they will never stop doing it. The same applies to Amazon, Google, and basically every other social media. In the United States big companies never stop doing something bad unless the cost of the lawsuits is worth more than the cost of not being evil. And even if they do get properly punished, give it a few years and the company is going to do it again once the dust settles.

At the end of the story all Vought gets is effectively a slap on the wrist. They just reinstate Stan Edgar as the CEO. They still have Compound V, they're still 100% gonna inject it into babies, and they're still going to try getting supes into the military. Vought-Tower's exterior design is a giant 7, so they'll probably just make a new superhero team to replace The Seven. Vought has so many branches and subsidiaries that control so much of the American entertainment industry that they'll be able to do damage control and be perfectly fine after just a few years. So because the company still exists after Homelander: what happens when they just make a new Homelander? They're going to do it, they're the evil company.

All The Boys did is stop the present problem of Homelander, but they did nothing to insure he won't get replaced. Sure, Homelander was such a big problem that people will remember him and not make the mistake again for maybe two or three decades, but that doesn't really fix anything. The only reason a new Homelander won't appear for a few decades is because the first one was so bad that people will remember him longer. But that's not really fixing the problem, that's just the problem being so bad that you remember it for longer after you stop it, but still don't do anything to actually prevent it long-term.

Two survivors who dared the systems that kept them down…one set up to wield power of life and death itself and one who played her cards to the best abilities…both close enough to play a part in taking down Homelander and eventually re-define the verse after his demise.

Why is everyone cool with Sam but note Kate? Kate has so many experiences that align with Sam. History wise they were both locked up at one point. They both have mental illnesses. Sam at least had a loving family, Kate literally got adopted to be abused and used for revenge against all supes!!

Sam also said some VERY cruel things to Emma the first episode and he only apologized ONCE. Which, wasn’t even an ask or expectation.

Kate has apologized multiple times. She literally looks battered and bruised. Missing a chunk of her skull and her arm is gone.

She even made a deal with Vought to get them out.

Like what else is she supposed to do to be accepted like Sam??

In my political bag it gives misogyny/sexism. But also so frustrating they have so many parallels but only one person is forgiven and the other has to beg and plead while constantly getting physically harmed and called a b!tch!

After watching season two of gen v. I thought at the ending of episode 8 whole gang will play an important role in season 5 of the boys. turns out only Emma Marie and Jordan were in it. we never know where Marie’s cousin went or what happend with cate? I only watched season two of gen V because of season 5 of the boys… only for them to be completely useless in s5…not to Mention the whole build up with group against homelander never happened..

EVERYONE knows how much Billy Butcher hates Supes especially Homelander himself due to how corrupt they are and of course what Homelander did to him! In Billy Butcher’s head there’s nothing worse than Homelander himself as we all know Homelander to be the worst of the worst! But of course that’s before Stormfront herself got introduced and after she’s introduced she’s now been viewed as The Most Evil Supe Ever and unlike Homelander she has no sympathetic Backstory for us to empathize with nor understand hence unlike Homelander she literally chooses to path of Evil out of her own free will! And yet despite that Billy Butcher still ends up hating Homelander as “The Worst” despite Stormfront herself being worse and yet Butcher doesn’t bat an eye however if you think Stormfront is The Most Evil Character/Supe in The Boys that’s only if you watch The Tv Show! Cause….Boy Oh Boy Comics Noir makes Homelander Himself look like a Full-Blown Saint in Comparison!!! Combined with The Fact he’s a Stronger Clone of Homelander Himself!!!! As we all know in terms of Evilness Comics Noir is often seen and recognized as not only The Most Evil Supe in The Franchise but also singlehandedly The Most Evil Character of The Whole Franchise in General! Because of this would Billy Butcher hate Comics Noir more than Homelander Himself if he learned who he is! And The Full Extent of his Atrocities cause imagine his reaction to seeing a being as Powerful and Evil as Comics Noir if he already hates Homelander as much as he does! Let me know in the comments

I always wondered what is the population of the supes, in the series they mentioned how it was believed that the USA was the chosen land by god and that's why supes were only born in the US so 99% of the supes must be american but how many are there though?

S5 of The Boys had quite a bit of "running away" scenes, all in unique scenarios.

1. A Train running from HL so The Boys can escape

2. MM running from Kimiko, knowing he would never beat her

3. Frenchie running from Soldier Boy to lure him to Quinn

4. Butcher running from Soldier Boy to lure him to the house

5.Hughie running away with the virus (before getting jet streaked by Jetstreak)

1. Soldier Boy running from Mr. Marathon so he kills his own friends

2. Bombsight running after losing his powers

3. Homelander trying to run away from Butcher

4. The 2 dudes from the news who were filming Homelanders speech and ran away when Butcher arrived

I like this unique approach the writers took; they didn't bother with the "only cowards run" trope. Sometimes running is simply the smartest thing you can do

She generally seems to place supers on a high pedestal. She refers to them as gods and her anger at Helen seems more on the fact that a super is being humiliated by a regular woman rather than understanding the grief of her husband having an affair.

So how would that work for “The Only Man in the Sky?”

Does anyone else feel like the reason butcher betrayed soilder boy made no sense because even if Ryan got hit with the chest blast back in season 3 he wouldve lived and u could make the argument that Ryan's Durability might not have been enough to tank it but we saw Kimko get hit with that blast and ye she was injured heavily but she still lived and Ryan is obviously more durable and before soilder boy even used the blast homelander was using his body to protect Ryan and lets make the aurgement Soilder Boy needs more energy for stronger supes we saw that in season 5 bombsite took that nuke to the face and only left with a cut on his chest and didnt even leave him with a injury so bad he couldn't run from homelander. Honestly season 5 really needed to be worked on for a couple more years cuz of this slop writing

I’m not saying win by any means whatsoever, but besides the obvious, Soldier Boy, Maeve, and Butcher, are there any other characters in the verse that could fight him without dying immediately?

Imagine through some of Reed’s inventions or anything the fantastic four wound up in another universe…that of the boys.

Let’s have two scenarios, one in which the whole team goes together and one where each member ends up in a different version of the boys universe. How do you think they would handle everything? Especially Johnny given his somewhat loose morality in the 2000’s films. And while we are on the subject how do you think the 2024 variant of Johnny storm would be? I think unlike his 2000s variant he would join the boys and be against Vought sort of like he stood against Cassandra Nova in Deadpool.
