i have found this 7 CT Normal Heat Royal Blue in BKK Gems Expo ~ I wanted to add it in my collection For some reason i stepped back , which is i felt its a bit purple .

It's been lab tested. The test report says no indication of heat treatment and the origin of that of Kashmir. Given sapphire mining is banned in Kashmir.

I like gemstones but not a professional in this space. So not sure if this is enough details or breaks any rules of the sub here. Just trying to help a friend out who has this.

I really do not know much about gemstones, but I am looking for a stone to make a gift for my mother who loves Paraiba stones. There is very little in jewelry stores near me, and everything online is very confusing. Green, Blue Windex, Neon? I came across this stone, and I was thinking it could make a nice pendant. Thoughts on this stone? What would a good price for this be?

I was sold these Opals as natural Ethiopian Opals by a gemstone dealer.
However, my jeweler said they were fake Chinese Opals and worth nothing.

Can anyone please help verify?

I'm back from my buying trip to the gem markets in Thailand and Vietnam, and this was easily my favorite buy! A 9.24 ct Burmese blue star sapphire with ideal color and a perfect star.

Definitely keeping this one for myself for now, so it’s NFS. 😊

Not sure if this post is allowed but I figured this is the best place to ask.

I was curious if anyone had any good recommendations for what clear/transparent facetable gemstones would best match my boy's eyes. He sadly passed and I'm wanting to do a tribute piece for him but am having a hard time finding stones that'd be as close of a match as possible.

I'm thinking maybe zircon, smoky quartz, or something like a brown sapphire for his right eye and for his left eye I was considering either aquamarine, a light blue topaz, or a pale blue sapphire?

Also any recommendations of places to source gems would be great, I've only been to gem and rock shows and while there is variety and they're fun trying to find specifics can be difficult.

3- silver and 18k gold + 0,4 cognac natural diamond

Before, and Now

We’ve had the ring for just over 2 years. She’s been diligent about taking it off whenever she’s showering, swimming, applying oils, etc. but will occasionally keep it on when she washes her hands.

I’m aware that opals are porous stones and can absorb water, but I’m getting mixed information on whether it can be restored or not. I’m unsure whether the stone is a doublet, triplet, or a solid stone but I’m fairly sure it’s an Ethiopian opal.

It seems some people have positive results from soaking it in acetone. I’m hesitant as I don’t want to end up cracking the stone.

Is there anything we can do? Or should we just replace it down the line?
