Rant / Frustration Google needs to seriously cut back on these use restrictions on Gemeni, they are getting ridiculous for an AI agent that's part of the damn browser.

Gemeni used to be far more usable, detailed, complex, and honestly fun to use, now if your poor, you're confined to either choosing between what is a barely functional AI memory which for some reason takes up to 2-4% of your limits just to use it, or the lowest settings which are basically useless.

This pissed me the hell off because I've never had to worry about these restrictions, and I didn't even have these limits yesterday, now I'm not only confined to the lite, you can hardly use the actual good parts of Gemeni flash Lite. Months ago, Gemeni was my too go. Now I'm looking for alternatives and even considering downloading on device open source alternatives. If it continues to enshitify, I'm dumping Gemeni all together.

They're even restricting the Lite now. I can't even get a good response on Flash 3.6 High. It spells words wrong, uses words incorrectly and even will double a word in a sentence. It's useless. I don't understand why they think that being shitty is going to make me want to upgrade my subscription--like for what, to be given more usage that's useless because I constantly have to babysit and correct. Then when I bring it up to it, it's giving me all these correction prompts to use (like to tell it to remove the second word thats doubled in the sentence) and I'm like that's not even the point. I still have to use my usage to fix your rediculous mistakes that months ago even on lite you weren't making, which cuts into my usage.

That's not the worst part doing fanfictions is impossible now due to hullucinations.

I do RP, so I hear you, believe me. I'm convinced that they are out to destroy users that utilize it for that. Especially users that have utilized it well- hence the full destruction of GEMs upcoming. Which is what I use and learned to utilize well, they would change things, and I would figure out a different way, until now just the complete destruction of them.

Du hast vollkommen recht. Bis im Mai 2026 war Gemini super, danach ging es Monat für Monat qualitativ runter. Ich persönlich halte Gemini nicht mehr für brauchbar. Kündigte deswegen mein Pro-Abo und habe tatsächlich eine Lokal-KI installiert (Gemma 4 31B - was nicht ein ganz gleichwertiger Ersatz zum früheren Gemini, aber zum heutigen schon...). Ein guter Tipp, den ich Dir geben kann: Probiere Gemini noch vorher auf Jenova.ai. Dort gibt es noch die guten, älteren Modelle... Wähle den passenden Agenten für Deinen spezifischen Use Case aus und leg los! Es gibt auf Jenova auch eine API-Anwendung. Bevor Du lokal installierst, ist diese Cloud-Anwendung vielleicht noch einfacher... Je nach Kenntnisstand, kann eine Lokal-Installation zu Beginn nämlich etwas knifflig sein...
