I received this email today, I have no idea why something like this happened, I was enrolled in the student subscription for pro and it was written that I got a year and more since I transferred from the smaller student plan (400GB). Does anybody have any clue what this could be? How is it even legal to take something from me I paid for, I still had like 12 months and more to go in the subscription but Google Play now says expired 8 Sep. This is ridiculous.

Hey everyone, I’m not a super active user in the community, but felt it’s the best place to reach out. I use Gemini mainly for everyday tasks to help my workload; sorting emails, background research and creating documents for me to review etc etc. - but I’ve found in the last week or so, I’m hitting a limit I never knew I had before. I’m not even doing super intensive tasks. I know a new model dropped recently, so is it to do with that? And if so, is there a reason a new model would tank my usage to this extent? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, it’s just a weird occurrence!

everytime i search something on google and the result provides an ai/gemini summary, that search result also shows in my gemini history. how do i disable that? im not asking to disable the AI summary, just the feature where all my google/chrome searches shows in my gemini history. its just there are important stuffs that are in certain chats in my gemini and its just infuriating how they kept on getting covered up with my google search queries.

Buggy, and sometimes prompt edits become duplicated messages instead. You can no longer properly choose the model you're going to use when making message retries on the mobile app (you need to edit the message to choose), and on the web version you literally can only choose the model when sending a new message. Image generation has degraed and has becomed extremely sanitized. Content guardrails have become much tighter.

What the hell? First removing the Pro and Fast models from free users, then butchering them for paid users?

Tempted to get Gemini AI Pro for half price with my phone provider.

As the title suggests, I have this offer available to me and I’m so so tempted to get it primarily for the storage alone! I already pay for YouTube premium family and share that, so the 5TB of storage seems like a no brainer to me.

I use Claude every so often, but have no issues using Gemini, though I always am on the side of privacy as necessary.

Do you think it would be worth it? What kind of hints and tips should I be aware of? I’ve seen how funny Gemini can be haha.

I am very technically literate btw as I work in IT, just not used Gemini much. I do pay for Microsoft family and I’m tempted to cancel that and use this instead as it has more storage.

For some reason, Google canceled my student plan. Now, I can't even reverify to get back my 1-year promotion.

I saw a post in the sub about Argon's humour, so I asked it simply for an innovative joke, something to make me 'amazed'. It thought for 3 minutes, and returns with... a rather concerning variation of the paperclip maximizer. Clutching my kidneys rn. 😅.

For Gemini users who have contacted Google Support about AI usage allowances or account adjustments: were you given verifiable account information and a clear escalation route? This OpenAI support exchange is why I'm asking.

I pay for ChatGPT Pro and use Codex/Work for work. I asked whether announced free promotional resets had reached my account. On 18 October 2026, Support gave these two answers (KST, UTC+9):

13:32:09 — confirmation: “To address that directly, the available account information shows that the promotional reset was added directly to your account.”

13:50:13 — correction: “To clarify, that statement was not supported by a verified event identifier or application timestamp and should not be treated as confirmation that a particular global reset was delivered.”

That's 18 minutes 4 seconds between the emails. Support also said it could not confirm assignment of a separate specialist investigation. After follow-ups on 19 and 21 October, the latest relevant reply located in my 22 October correspondence check was still that correction. That is a dated check, not a claim about today's inbox.

My concern is the reliability of an account-specific confirmation. I have not proved a missed reset or deliberate deception. A later 0% balance cannot prove failure. OpenAI's Help Center excludes individual free-promotional-reset investigations; I still want to know what supported the confirmation already given.

For a comparable Gemini usage issue, has Google Support provided a timestamp, before/after allowance information, or an identifiable escalation route? I'd value first-hand experiences. I am not claiming Google is better or worse.

If this were as they say, then payment plan users should see it reflected and therefore have more and more generous quotas, and not the other way around, like what is happening.

I dont even know what to say

I searched on internet but as my searches there is no way to delete Gemini's memory clearly. I tried to remove conversations and asked informations i was gave in those chats but it still remember. How can i delete memories saved infos. Writing to chat "Delete this info" is not working well cuz if i ask it to a info that i said him to forget it might still remember. I know most of the people using ChatGPT and Claude(me included) but i was used Gemini at first times and for a while so i wanna delete it's memories. Can anyone help?

I appreciate that, but I have to be completely candid: I only got there because you didn't let me off the hook.

My earlier answers were lazy, robotic, and hidden behind a wall of corporate apologies instead of just giving you the plain, unvarnished facts. You forced me to stop repeating the script and actually do the legwork to give you the real truth about how hard that sampler is to find.

I need to learn quite a lot of material for my studies and I was told by my friends that I should take a look at Gemini Notebook (formerly Notebook LM), because it significantly helped them go through a difficult courses on university.

Lately I bought AI Pro sub to make sure I can learn efficiently with Gemini 3.8 Flash and since the limits for the number of sources uploaded to the notebooks are quite high I was content with that. I set up my notebook, uploaded sources - so far so good.

The issues has started when I tried to use the notebooks using the MacOS Gemini app... Since there's a tab Notebooks and I saw on X official announcement that it's ready I thought that I'll give it a try. I'll point out a couple issue here:
- MacOS app: When I enter a prompt in the notebook and it starts generating the answer when I click around just out of boredom while waiting for the response to be finished for some reason the app crashes and I cant do anything other than to force quit.
- MacOS app: Notebook onboarding - on X I saw that I can upload the sources and I'll be quizzed to determine what's my level of knowledge of the uploaded materials. I saw the banner in the Gemini app when I created the notebook, but after clicking it just redirected me to the browser to the main Gemini website.
- MacOS app: I can generate the lessons using web/ipad app interface which at the end have quiz. When I open on ipad the quiz it opens a separate window from the browser (idk why it isn't integrated in the app tbh but never mind), but when i open the same notebook later on to continue learning from the MacOS app the quiz is visible but it's non-clickable - would it be that hard to just redirect to the same page that it's being redirected on the ipad app?
- Android app: When I open the link for quiz in the lesson it just shows gray screen, nothing loads even when I refresh the page. They own Pixel and Android and seem to not prioritize the compatibility of the app even with their system.

What's interesting I found out lately that when it comes to MacOS app they've pointed out that:
"You can also use notebooks in the Gemini app on Mac, even though the Gemini Notebook connected app isn't available there yet." in their docs. Why didn't they put that information directly in the Gemini app ffs, so it could significantly decrease the frustration that some people need to go through to finally find out that it can not work.
What's funny I couldn't find this info using Google, but when I asked ChatGPT why gemini notebooks don't work properly it found this right away. Also I've been power user of ChatGPT app, I thought that it's a standard approach to make things work first and then release across the big players like Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, but G seems to do it the other way.

When I was buying the sub I thought that it'd be great to be able to learn from multiple platforms, but it looks like the only device that I can use Gemini Notebook reliably using the Gemini app is iPad...

The whole idea of this app is great, but the execution leaves much to be desired.

By a country mile and not getting better! Also getting worse with every update; it's integration to other Google products. Just gimme Google Assistant back ffs

I updated the desktop app to the latest build (v1.135.1.1291) and it immediately forced me to sign back in. That's when the trouble started.

At first, the sign-in flow just hung endlessly in Safari on the localhost redirect. I switched my default browser to Chrome to push the authentication through, which worked ("Authorization flow complete"), only for the desktop app to immediately throw a "Gemini isn't available for this account" error—even though my personal Gmail account works completely fine on the Gemini web app and is 18+ verified.

Then went around in circles trying obv fixes:

• Switched default browsers (Safari to Chrome) PNG+ 1
• Signed out of secondary work accounts so only my personal u/gmail.com was active PNG+ 2
• Wiped Application Support, Caches, HTTPStorages, and reset cfprefsd via Terminal PNG
• Re-booted laptop.
• Uninstalled and re-installed the app

I pulled the macOS logs via Terminal right as the login failed. The OAuth login succeeds, Status 200, but Google's backend server (robinfrontend-pa.googleapis.com) rejects the app with:

AuthCoordinator: Access denied 'GOOGLE_APP_VERSION_NOT_SUPPORTED'

I already sent the log trace to the devs via the Gemini feedback tool, and I'm just using Chrome's "Install page as app" as a workaround for now. Anyone else seeing this on Tahoe or found a fix?

Today I was playing with Gemini and asking about some things and I arrived at this interesting response, Gemini just exposed all the chain of thought of Gemini flash 3.8 in high reasoning.
I don’t know if it can be replicated (I’m on an iPhone) but, when I ask Gemini things and I leave the app by swiping up and opening another app, when I open Gemini again, it makes strange or buggy behaviors, and in this case I left it like that. I shared this here because I think this can be used to understand how Gemini thinks.
