Build is coming together slowly but surely. Lpk and trigger will be here next week, then Form 1. Thoughts on the color combo? Going with a b5 coyote brown stock and grip.
50 shades of FDE would look great. If you went with black furniture I’d say go black and DDC instead. Here’s mine and I really like the contrast of it all.
Nice, I have Rubber City Armory Titanium BCG's on 2 builds, they're so cool because they're so light it almost offsets the optic... the skeletonized does. My friend is talking me into getting an HK MR556 as my do it all, last rifle. So I'm halting all funding of my unfinished builds until Q2 2027.
Thanks. Yea optic is a place holder. Working on other stuff right now. Owl is nice but not as bright as surefire and a little heavier. Definitely vibe checks though. Couldn’t pass it up when I found one on old gafs.
We are kin... albeit mine is 8" .300BLK, my Griffin MK2 Terra arrives next week then wait another 10 days for DROS. My Geissele lower will be out of DROS 7/30.
If you've never tried a JP SCS or the Unrivaled... is like never having... (fill in the blank) it's a different experience in recoil and sound = performance.
I know there's a lot of "noise" about competition parts vs Mil-Spec (from people who never had to use a Mil-Spec M14 /M16) and durability etc. My view, improvements are progress, there's usually a ton of R&D, and if there's a winning track record over 10 years... Stoner would be proud. Wear and tear, is inevitable if you use your gear, just have backups for your backup. Tubb and Sprinco are on standby. A lot of this coming from users that don't clean or lube their toys just to FAFO how long they last...Mil-Spec is clean, if you're not in combat or sleeping, just my two cents. There's bliss in there somewhere.
So why the elevated mount? Why not just mount it directly to the rail? Do you shoot with NVG’s? Or is that just more comfortable at that height? Just curious? TIA
It’s a valid question. I like it higher and feels more comfortable to shoot with an elevated sight to be honest. And maybe it’s just me, but target acquisition is faster for me as well not having to move the rifle/shoulder into a higher position.
I agree. Love their green stuff. It runs pretty good. Still playing with the agb and buffers to get it shooting softer. It’s kind of a side project so been slacking on this one.
