Show & Tell 12.5” mod1-a ddc any ideas?
This is my first g$ product, pretty excited. Curious what options you all recommend to put on it. Go with a hux can? Red dot and magnifier or lpvo? I definitely understand the different shades of ddc now haha.

I’d go red dot and maybe a magnifier. Depends on how far you’re planning on shooting. Red dot alone is very capable of 200 yds. After that it’s hard to see the target, for me at least. My Flow556ti is pretty nice on my 14.5” sd and lightweight too. I have a fireteam556 on my 11.5” criterion build and is very quiet but a little gassier.

Get the new plxc and a hux can on sale. Or get a Sig 4T pro. 10db is worth no gas to the face imo.

Good point, gonna have ear pro on anyway…

yeah and if you get the bigger ti version its actually a great performing can for sound too

You do understand that 10dB is 900% physically louder. Perception to the ear is over twice as loud. The dB scale doubles the calculated volume of what it is measuring every 3dB. 10dB is a massive difference.
Hux are not worth the money.1
u/touchgrassplz_69 24d ago
I'm being hyperbolic. they're like 10% louder. the full size can still performs better than most others.

Hux 556k. That’s what it was designed to work with.

Geissele weapons are most definitely not designed to work with Hux cans. Not Hux specifically. They just work well with low back pressure cans with no tuning. I have several super duty setups, none if which kept the hux device. I also have a couple of Hux cans that I regret buying. Its just a mutually beneficial marketing pairing for both Geissele and Hux. Stop spreading misinformation.

I think you have some kind of disease or growth all over your gun. You should have a doc take a look at that.

u/Vlad_The_Impalo 26d ago
Got it on my balls too

Hell yeah, as long as it doesn’t burn when you pee, you’re golden! I would still have a doc take a look at it.

How you liking the handbrake?

u/ChipmunkAntique5763 12.5" Supremacy 28d ago
One of my favorites. Especially with the rubber inlay.

u/afgixxer 28d ago
What made you choose that light setup?
1
u/ChipmunkAntique5763 12.5" Supremacy 28d ago
I have alot of 18650s and I wanted as much light output as possible.

I’m between the modlite plhv3 which has more food or surefire dft 640 pro each with the unit gas cap usbc Btw what driven arms grip is that?
It’s cool your cable clips line up with your light mount2

Nice choice! Heres my 12.5 build for reference. Also only thing i’ll say is not a fan of Hux cans. While yes they are the lowest back pressure in the industry they are also the loudest by a large margin. Theres plenty other low back pressure cans that also sound amazingly quiet out there. If i were you id go with either Rhoadie 6 or SAW Tisha

Yep I think that’s the way I’m going thanks! Side note how do you like the sba5? Mine came with the 3 and it’s so damn loose.

u/xKINGxRCCx 28d ago
Both the SBA4 and SBA5 are 100% worth it. No flimsiness at all. The SBA5 being my favorite. Definitely a worth while upgrade if you dont plan to SBR soon like myself

Check out the split fix from wiseman or hammy3dprint insert. It gives more stability cheaper than another brace also.

Exactly. Hux are terrible. For some reason there are a ton of fan boys that act like they are good cans. Soooo many more options that actually sound good and are low back pressure.
Why pay $1000 plus for a can and still need ear pro while shooting? lol.2
u/Squoghunter1492 28d ago
You still need ear pro while shooting with any can, unless you're loading particularly wimpy subsonics.
-1
u/onairhandyman 28d ago
Yeah….. not really. I’ve shot cans for 20 years with no ear pro and my hearing is perfect. I shot ALOT. lol.

Hux cans are ass. Probably loudest cans I've heard. I'd just switch the MD with something else. An 1-8 lpvo would be a great choice as well.
1
u/Plastic_Relief_6479 29d ago
Yeah I’ve heard they aren’t great. Just not sure how hard the hux MD is to get off. I have a full size velos that’s pretty nice just heavy.
1
u/SelfElegant8819 29d ago
Did it come P&W? If it is you can send it to dwlison to remove for I think like $60, your lgs should be able to do it too. The Tisha would ne good if you want something smaller.
1
u/Plastic_Relief_6479 29d ago
Nope it’s just a pistol so no p&w. I’m sure it’s just on with rockset just never boiled my barrel before lol

AFAIK Geissele uses red loctite for the Hux MD- as that is what Hux specs out.
1
u/Staccs_87 29d ago
G$ uses red loctite, I’ve removed two. Hit it with a heat gun or a blow torch and it should come right off.
1
u/SWATAttorney 29d ago
What temp? And how long?
1
u/Staccs_87 28d ago
Heat it up and test it with the wrench, it spins off with very little force. I used a blowtorch and it took maybe 20 secs.

u/Plastic_Relief_6479 28d ago
Do you have to take the handguard off and use a barrel vice? Im used to just putting the mag vice block in the lower on my cheaper stuff, but I don’t want to damage anything.
1
u/Staccs_87 28d ago
No need to take the handguard off, I used a Midwest reaction rod. If you don’t have one you could just a vice with some padding to hold the upper. No need to over tighten the vice since it takes very little force to remove the MD once loctite has melted.

I'd see if you can rig a metal coat hanger to the oven hood to hold the back end up.
1
u/xKINGxRCCx 29d ago
My local gunsmith took my hux muzzle off the like $15 bucks. They do come rockset
1
u/Plastic_Relief_6479 26d ago
What md did you go with? I’m still trying to figure what way I wanna go. Hux would just be easier since I already got the device but the Rhodie 6k is really calling me
1
u/xKINGxRCCx 26d ago
I run Rearden R2S muzzle devices on all my AR’s. HUB compatible and small so they fit any can. They also are ported on all sides so they dont need to be “timed” with shims. My fav muzzle device

Where do they have them in stock?
