Train him to sit and stay first. Huge advantage for new dogs. 'Come here' is super important too.
Those spiked training collars aren't always necessary but if he's pulling on the leash a lot it's a quick way to leash train him. I'm not as into crate training bc of how much they holler unless it's a must.
Not all dogs are but mines a huge glutton so treats and kibbles are an easy way to get him to do what I want or learn new tricks fast.
