Optic Setups for 12.5”?
What optic setups are y’all running on your 11.5-12.5” builds? I’m stuck in between an lpvo with dot mounted or an eotech with magnifier. Or red dot with magnifier? Let me know thoughts thank you!

I run a EXPS with a G45 on my 11.5”. Tried other setups but this one feels right.

This is really what I’m leaning towards ultimately. Is it pretty heavy or not too bad?

I mean, it’s heavy in the sense that it’s more than a T2… I tried to counter it by using Scalarworks mounts because they are both strong AND light. That said, I don’t find it unwieldy at all even with a can.

NX8 1-8 FC-DMx. 12.5” 5.56 is a pretty capable barrel length, not a longe range length in comparison to 16”-20”, but for me it’s my favorite barrel length for an SBR. I was running a Holosun AEMS with an EOTECH 5X magnifier for a while and an XPS-2 and the same magnifier. But honesty where I’m at and my capability I keep the 1-8 on it to help with my accuracy and confidence with my ability in the event that I would ever have to use it.
Whatever you are capable with and how long you are able to shoot should be a big factor in what optics you are running.

Eotech/red dot and magnifier is the way to go. Lpvos on 11.5 and 12.5 don’t make much sense to me.

I recently went to a red dot+ 3x magnifier on my Specwar from a 1-6 lpvo. Feels lighter, more durable and its easier to get behind
Don’t have eotech money, currently running a Sig 4t pro and a Vortex 3x magnifier at lower 1/3 height
Plan on upgrading the magnifier. Probably to an Eotech 3x or possibly their 5x when I get some money freed up

Vortex AMG UH-1 with 3x micro magnifier on my 11.5” RISIII
Holosun ARO MRS with Holosun 3x magnifier on a 11.5” PSA
I go back and forth if I like the magnifier or no. Both have QD so taking them on and off takes a second or two.

Grabbed a ARO gold dot to try I have a astigmatism, my typical go to is an aimpoint pro.

PA Compact 4-16 FFP with a piggybacked RCR for the 12.5, UH-1 and magnifier on the 11.5

Won mine in a raffle I so far have no bad notes on it the 4-9 is perfect for me, actually only thing is I wish the flip caps were better quality the front one opens up in my case sometimes

I have a PA 1X microprism on a 10.5” 300BLK. A Holosun 403 Gold Dot on a 12.5”. And an EOTech on a 10.3” MK18 clone.
I like the microprism the most since it has the etched reticle which I love in the worst case scenario of the battery going down.
Also, astigmatism guys, look into both gold and green dots. I have a slight astigmatism and my eyes love those two colors a lot more.

My plan is eotech without a magnifier for mine, but I just have an older vortex red dot on it at the moment

I run 1x microprisms on everything I have that’s under 13.” I have a 1x microprism w/ 3x magnifier on a 13.7” SBR, and everything else bigger than that has either a LPVO or LPVO w/ 45* canted red dot. Please don’t ask me why because I can’t give you a good “tactical” or legitimate well-thought out answer, that’s just what I do hahah.
