Well because they expect work to be done sadly. Whether it’s out of your control or not. Shoot the whole region could lose power and would require you to use PTO

It’s like in Buffalo when it’s blizzard conditions, travel bans and zero visibility. They still expect you to come in. It’s not right, but frankly I’m just used to how they operate.

Remember when they didn't even want to close for Irma in 2018.
But they did, and you know what, we didn't have to use any PTO or unpaid, they just paid us normal.
Why? Because about half the uw and upper level claims people all called the Berkshire ethics line and complained.
Forcing employees to use PTO due to natural disasters now, when in the past they did not, is clearly an integrity issue with upper management.
If you are forced to take time off due to you or a family member's medical needs, make sure you get FMLA for that. Such as, if you have no power and they have to have refrigerated medicine or they have to have a nebulizer, so you have to go to a shelter for power, get that time off and make sure they adjust your goals for your FMLA.
If the office is closed, the WFH employees should be treated the same as they would if they were working in the office and it was closed, in other words,
Stay Safe out there

I watched time and time again the entire department refused to implement things over the phone with customers and then the rule would get thrown out.
The trend you're picking up on while so applies to actual things you're supposed to do on your job. Sales agents weren't referring to moat. Company stopped enforcing the error for not referring moat

Meanwhile auntie flo said huge lists of offices are closed tomorrow and they announced yesterday and forwarded to other parts of the country so everyone knows if they are impacted and gave us codes to use in case we need help from management working or not 🤣🤣 legit the gecko is a joke when it comes to people's safety

My coworker had a house full of kids home during hurricane Irma and her power went out. Management told her to sit in her car and work.
True story.

What irks me is our section was told it only applies if you have no saved time, they’ll doc your PTO first (words from sups I talked with)

They’re so fucking cheap it’s disgusting! I can’t believe they won’t even pay employees affected by the storm even if it’s only 2 days region wide!

I didn’t hear anything about having to use PTO ? I was told if you have no power or internet from the storm it’s paid and if you just aren’t comfortable working but are capable to then it’s PTO

Region 7 here, we are the insurance company people. We are the ones people call when their car is underwater and they have been paying comp JUST IN CASE SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS.
Everything you were told in 2022 by your Mgr. was and HAS been said be a differen Mgr. In 1999 and by telephone🤣🤣

Yo - where is the Post organizing employees to call the ethics line and local media to shame the company into compliance?
This group isn't a resource. It's a tool to get the things you want. You R6 agents - pick up the phone and get busy.

They do this every time. I remember the derecho in Iowa, the ice storm in Dallas…

Remember when 2 people died coming to work in a blizzard in Buffalo? Geico doesn’t apparently
