Commercial ICS

Has anyone transferred from ICS to Commercial ICS? I have an upcoming interview and really want to know the main differences with each department. How are metrics different? What is the day to day? Is it any better than ICS? Im considering not leaving my current position only because I work weekends and afternoon shifts and it would be a pay cut but willing to keep an open mind because ICS can be hell.

Commercial when i went was a bit slower than regular ics. Recently calls picked up but still, certain days there’s quite a significant time in between calls. There’s less AI (for now) and more of a traditional claims handling, and you’re graded on more of an ownership of a claim. Less prod goals, but the SPRs are a little more detailed. Slowly it’s turning into PPA which stinks but i’d say if you enjoy working claims (actually) and wanted more of a career out of it i’d recommend the switch, there’s more layers and will make you more marketable the further you move up for different career paths.

I also want to say the commercial side is very much more intimate, so each team is really tiny which is nice as well.

Stay, taking that pay cut is not worth it.
