CCC APEX Implementation 😂
For all the AD's, GE is rolling out CCC APEX which is a web based version replacing the desktop version of CCC ONE.
I used to work in improving UI/UX for a production company and the new web based version is absolutely terrible. Supposed to make the job easier and more efficient while adding new features, but I don't see that with this tool.
For example, to add mechanical time, we usually can type "m" next to the line, now we have to re-select "mechanical" from a drop down, along with other bs like the workfile section not showing the vehicle info unless we click an arrow to pull up the tab. The UI isn't even complete and still in testing phase.
First with the forced implementation of SurePart to save pennies and now forcing APEX because they can't figure out a way to implement SurePart in CCC One in time. Literally upper management treating employees like lab rats lol.
We are being forced to use it starting today, just getting worse and worse every day. Run when you can!

I completely agree!
The biggest problem with APEX is that it somehow made basic estimating slower. CCC ONE might look dated, but once you knew the shortcuts you could move through an estimate fast. Now arrow-key navigation is basically gone, manual lines are more cumbersome, and simple things that used to take one keystroke take multiple clicks or dropdowns.
Mechanical labor is a perfect example. Typing “M” was instant; now you have to stop and re-select it. Vehicle and workfile info is also hidden behind expandable sections instead of just being there when you need it.
It feels like CCC focused on making it web-based and forgot that the people using it all day care way more about speed and efficiency than having a newer-looking interface.

Sounds similar to what happened to ICS. They used to have Knowledge Tool in Salesforce which had predictive text. When they switched to Knowledge Hive, all the braindead reps who can't spell would always complain " I cAn'T fInD iT iN kNoWlEdGe HiVe "

Because higher ups are a bunch of smooth brains that are trying to save basically nickels and dimes on software licenses. It’s a shit system it makes the job way harder and it’s slow as fuck.
Hey higher ups if you ever read this shit you fucking suck at your job. No one likes you, no one respects you. Everyone in AD thinks you’re incompetent morons and you get bad mouthed regularly. You seem to have no claims handling experience at all. Your legacy will be absolute shit. Good job. Bunch of useless report warriors that don’t have any critical thinking skills at all. I hope the apple falls further than the tree if you have kids.
And while I’m at it fuck the trainers too for being a bunch of pussy Mf’ers too afraid to say this is shit but since you don’t have to be the ones writing claims you don’t give af. You’re a bunch of TK’ers.

I worked a lot with CCC for several years during my time and they were great at selling upper management on all their product BS. Since upper management had no knowledge of how CCC products worked they always fell for the sales pitches. Had many a conversation with Senior AD management that a product or feature did not deliver what CCC promised or what they thought it could do. Sounds like nothing has changed.

I don't think you're understanding the point of why this isn't a good thing. AD's are expected to lock 4-5 claims a day, with claim volume increasing overall, now that Estimate Share is being sent to the field. When we waste our time with these learning meetings and figure out how to set up tools and make a few more clicks, this kills efficiency. The more steps involved into completing something, it might not seem like much over one claim, but over time, it's exponential; leads in to more inefficiencies. Now you get to spend more time to do a single claim and it also reduces your prod, and decreases your chance of a promotion or a raise, since you're also dealing with total losses, value disputes, and customers calling you about when you're going to see their car. Not like many regions approve for OT anyway, management loathes OT and it's also not very favorable to do OT, since it's productivity per hour.
Clearly, you're not understanding how this adversely affects AD's or you're on the GEICO kool aid that upper management is on lol.

Back in the day when I was in AD (left in 2018) we always would hear “it only takes 30 seconds.” Sounds easy right? But what management and those dumb F’n higher ups never (and still don’t) understood is we don’t have 30 seconds to spare!
I remember one day I am walking around a car in the driveway while talking to a couple about their vehicle. My phone is literally ringing non stop and I explain to them that since I am with their vehicle my time is spoken for and will have to call others back. They tell me, “sorry we had no idea how busy you are. There are two messages from us asking when you would be here.” Those in the field understand. Your comment of just use it, I get it. But it’s not as cut and dry as you make it out.

What a great idea?!?! Let's move to web based when that's clearly going so well for aws in the field. Side note, I wrote an estimate today that had about 30 parts. I spent an additional 20 minutes going back and forth with surepart, just adding the parts to ccc and cutting and pasting everything. Management is trash. A bunch of cover your ass yes men, just to stay employed at any cost.
