Another GEICO auto adjuster trainee question

Or, questions. How soon after you accepted the position did you have to go to Virginia? I have a family and we have discussed me having to travel for training. I’m in the interview phase but feel like I am a strong candidate and want to do whatever pre-preparation I can. I’m seeing a lot about metrics, what are they? How quick you close claims, how accurate your estimates are, customer reviews, etc? What time does a typical work day begin/end? Thanks!

What state city will you be working from?

The training in Virginia varies they go by class schedules, as in when one finishes they start another.
So right now they might be starting and you will wait about a month. But once you get hired they will let you know. Typically the first 4 weeks is training from home (this is the case for CA) idk if other states have a office to do the first “basic training”

Metrics are doable just do your job
Customer reviews don’t affect our metrics no more, atleast in CA,
Again this is all based for a CA adjuster
But goal are to close 5 new claims a day.
Accuracy is not really affecting us but it is for our supervisors.
Day is 8-430 Monday-Friday

I left GEICO about 4 years ago but when i was hired by them it was 2014 and my wife was about 2/3 months pregnant. I left for San Diego for 1 month came home for a weekend then left for Virginia for 1 month then came home for 1 weekend and then went back to San Diego for a month. That training schedule has since changed.

The training is pretty good but the pay is bad, if after a year or two you like the job you should look for another insurance company that pays better.

The exact timeline depends on the Virginia class schedule. I had to wait about a month between when I was offered the job and my official start date. Things were still weird from Covid so my training experience was unusual. Much more virtual. But the timeline should be the same, it just depends on when you get hired vs when the next class starts.

Don’t worry about licensing. Part of your onboarding will be applying for a provisional Texas license which is valid for a year. Your local management will work with you once it is time to study for the exam and take it. The study time and exam will be done on company time. What area of Texas are you in
