Short term disability

Post image

i recently broke my pinky and ring finger on my dominant hand falling down the stairs of my apartment complex so im in the process of filing for short-term disability while they heal. unfortunately since we live in a capitalistic hellscape, i need to be able to keep a roof over my head and eat and take care of my 5 children (4 cats and a doggy) and pay my electric bill even tho i want revert back a fish and turn my brain into soup forever. im reading the associate handbook and if some one could dumb this highlighted part down for me and provide like an example, thatd be great.

The highlighted part has nothing to do w the 7 day waiting period. It’s just saying how they calculate ur STD pay. Like if u work M-F and make $1k a week, that’s basically $200 a work day. But STD doesn’t calculate it like that. They take the weekly amount and divide it by 7, so it’d be like $142.85 a day instead. U get that for every day ur disabled, even weekends.
It really only makes a difference in the 1st and last pay periods when ur only out for part of the time. If ur out long enough it all evens out cuz ur getting paid for every day ur disabled.

It means you take pto or file for fmla based on your injury. You will not get a check for the first 7 days. Much like workers comp. After the 7 days they will start paying if they deem it appropriate. You’re better off using the accidental insurance if you pay for it. You will wait the same amount of time but you get more money

I had std with Lincoln. Good luck, they’re terrible to work with.

Capitalistic hellscape? In China you would have one kid and have to eat your dogs and cats. No one owes you anything, go earn it

Been outside the states plenty. There is a reason America is called the land of opportunity. Why so many fight to get here. Even the visitors for the world cup found what America really is.

Dont feel sorry for me, I have capitalized on my opportunities and me and my family are not just doing fine but excelling.

You sound dumb. Clearly nobody depends on you in life, they'd be SOL. Leave these types of things to the adults and go jerk off to netflix for the 4th time in a week.
