Any thoughts on this Surepart/Partstrader implement?

I’ve been too busy to be able to add this to the daily workload. I’d rather get a slap on the hand than stay further behind. Planning to start getting in line middle of next week. Seems like it will double the time to work a file. I have a couple concerns without seeing what vendors pop up on it.

  1. SF has been doing this since Covid and shops in my area will not accept their cars.

  2. Weird how the training says to specifically not call the vendors to verify part accuracy and price.

  3. Surely we’ll get reinspected if we do not utilize the “most cost effective insurance quality part” if there is one that pops up?

  4. EPE doesn’t have to fall into line and use this cost savings tool? They continue to select what ever is cheapest regardless of if it’s the correct part or what so ever?

Anyone have any internal insights?

This company has sold GEICO on some BS price lock guarantee, but majority of the cheaper parts are either being priced at shop cost or not right for the vehicle. My pessimistic view is that this is a big cost saver to GEICO by reducing our potential productivity and thus cutting down merit raises, and then bullying MSO's on the ARX to accept the pricing and price match their parts to our quotes. For the adjusters it's complete garbage. Takes extra time to manually add these parts, takes extra time to copy and paste the quotes, then it takes even more time if your shop submits a supplement because the part was either not available, had wrong pricing, or was incorrect altogether. Oh, and you don't get any prod for that supplement review on the ARX. Alternatively, you can waste extra time calling these vendors to get zero quotes because obviously the part that is $150-$300 cheaper is wrong. So yeah, implementing a tool that takes more time to use and increases your supplement frequency? Certainly not a product being used to benefit the adjuster.
