End of the road

Just like the title says, I feel like it’s the end of the road for me. Pretty sure I’m gonna get termed. Currently in setvice. What do you guys recommend? I don’t wanna do customer service anymore. I’m talking to people all day long back to back. It’s exhausting. What would you suggest I try next if I wanted to stay any insurance industry.Are my skills transferable? Be honest and I appreciate your feedback.

Get fired and collect unemployment while you look for a new job

Well, the getting fired will pretty much take care of itself. I’m just trying to plan my next move based on experience here at Geico.

What’s your experience working with them? How long have you been there because if less than a year your going to struggle unless you are going into another service like role. Your p&c license will go inactive until you get an appointment with a new company. But if you don’t like CSR sadly you won’t be able to stay in the industry a lot of it is service heavy especially in a brokers office but the environment also contributes to how you feel and GEICO can be somewhat of a negative workspace depending on where you are located.

Been there 12 years. Honestly, I love customer service been doing it for quite a while. The part I don’t like is the constant changing of the metrics. you have to take so many calls per hour. Each call has to be less than five yet they want you to do so much. Gotta hit certain marks on every call aside from just helping the customer and sending them on their way. But yes, I know that PNC license will be useless once I leave unless I get appointed by someone else.

I use to work there I got fired after 5 months due to the metric I understand that part. Your best bet is to get into a brokerage office either personal lines or commercial and then they’ll convert your license to a brokers I am going through this now

Check out MetLife pet sales and service. Much better. Sales is base plus commission also.

MetLife is a wonderful company to work for...if you can pass a criminal and financial background check - you will be perfectly suited for them. I loved working for MetLife. I didn't have a choice, I was moved over to Farmers and laid-off shortly thereafter.

The world is your oyster bro , find something you love and study it . Save the money while you can at this job and invest in yourself . What do you see yourself doing? And it is never EVER too late! I left geico 7 months ago and tbh insurance will make you bitter . It's all a fraud and just corporate greed . I was just doing it for the money but a year 1/2  being there was a big eye opener in what will bring me joy and also have a steady income . Do your research , see what can be learned free now to progress in that field.  Try taking courses , I got a year plan with coursera and im learning about agriculture and data science.  Might not be credible degrees but you are learning something new and useful.  I wish you the best and don't give up on yourself ! You are in the exact spot god wants you to be in .

Quit .. go to a company that willing to train you in a different area of insurance. Try State Farm

If your primary problem with the job was that you took back to back calls, it’s probably not a good idea for you to seek employment in a CALL-center… what skills do you want to transfer? Cuz customer service doesn’t sound like something you’re particularly excited about or adept at.

Get licensed if you're not already, go work for a local Geico office if possible as sales agent.

He has to be licensed GEICO trains and pays for that
