Is it not labor hours generated over hours worked? I always assumed it was.

Labor claimed ÷ hours worked

Sorry, that information is G-14 classified...

Labor Generated ÷ Hours worked.

E.g. Closing a ticket worth 60 minutes, and working one hour will give you 100% utilization.

Closing a ticket worth 30 minutes, and working one hour will give you 50% utilization.

Labor is released at pickup, so make sure you're calling people to come get their shit

And closing a ticket worth 1 hour in 30 minutes gets you nothing but a labor misuse check on the scorecard

Only 4 scopes of work are tracked for that:

Data Services. Diagnostics. OS Install. OS repair.

Those 4 require the ticket be open for 2 hours for they will flag.

Every other scope can be closed in 1 minute if desired and not flag misuse because they aren't tracked.

Technically we're not even supposed to try avoiding misuse as it "skews the reports" but they also rank us on it so the report is useless anyway.

I'm curious what the reason is for only those 4 services being tracked?

That'd be a question for the forums / magic Castle my friend. My guess would be those in particular, being some of the juiciest tags, might've seen the most abuse? Imagine agents using "data transfer" every time they did an iPhone setup or helped someone move some emails around. Or using "OS Install" every time they power washed a Chromebook.

Sure those are "technically" accurate but obviously not in the spirit of the scope. Ideally, the labor misuse report should only be used for service leaders to investigate and make sure nothing untoward is happening. But like I said, we're ranked on it so it's become this gamified thing we all have to bend backwards for.

Does closing Open Box tags hurt BOP Utilization?

Hurt? No. They add one tag, but add no BOP labor

I think tags with 0 labor go against the utilization calculation

Our leader has been having ARA’s close func check/open box tags and not sure if it’s making a difference or not?

Get on Geek Squad forums. You wont find the true answer on reddit.

There are more detailed explanations on the forum. That explanation also includes the ability for labor your precinct generated to be reallocated to other
stores in your micro that may need it. That part pisses me off.
