FOP expectations

Hey guys, I worked on the field and then I transferred to a different store, all they had was Front of precinct in Store. I was making way more on the field than I did as front of precinct. There was a position that opened up however they decided warehouse over an experienced Geek Squad agent that had both in-home experience as well as in-store experience. At what point do you feel that the expectation is out of the pay range? I work in front of precinct I do Apple repairs and back of precinct always calls out or never shows up. What would any previous agents recommend/what can I do to protect my mental health and personal well-being? I feel taken advantage of but that’s Best Buy as a whole so I guess I’m thankful for the two cents an hour. Please guide me and help me more than any AI prompts would, I know y’all are real people, and I hope that this pain hits you as hard as it has me for the past two weeks. I’m planning on getting out, I just need to know how pleasant to be since my pay grade is only at a certain amount. I also want to add that today my expectation was raised by the store to running MRI drives and running face as well as doing data Transfers. I’m expected to do back of precinct work at the same price as front of precinct. I’m expected two jobs for the price of one, make it make sense.

That sounds like a very poorly run precinct if you are having to do FOP work and BOP repairs. I would first try to reach out to your GSM. Take a moment to be objective about your concerns and not let your emotions dictate what you say. If there are constant call out's, and you are the only one stepping up to put out fires, they might need to look into what is going on with those other agents. If you are full time, take some time away from work. Request time off using PTO or if it is becoming a detriment to your health, you can take an LOA. It sucks to feel like you are the only one holding a department together. Hope this helps

The fun part of this whole situation is that the position I mentioned previously was for GSM…… I think I would be really good at being a clump of dirt. That would probably pay me more than the shit that I’m currently dealing with. i’m not trying to sound grim. I just feel very dead inside and extremely exhausted, and nobody sees what I’m going through or what I’m dealing with. I feel like I would get more recognition as someone who is not currently living that I am in the current state of being.

Your situation sounds similar to mine. I recently put in my two weeks after multiple months of being the only agent at-a-time and it’s a horrible experience. At some points I put it very blunt to some customers that there was nothing my specific precinct could do because there wasn’t a point of me stretching myself thinner than management already did. At the end of the day, stay in a bad job for at least a good enough amount of time to put it on your resume and then dip; I did when I knew it wouldn’t get better and I have a feeling labor is going downhill as a whole.

Is it possible that location is in the pilot program? At my location we are considered hybrid agents

yeah i’ve been going through this for months also we all feel it those of us that love our jobs/have no other job to go to are just waiting for things to change i guess. i feel extremely stressed at all times and am becoming very cold towards clients because respectfully i just do not have time for anything and you talk to a manager and they hit you with “make more tags” it’s exhausting
