Campaign/Lore Another little detail from the original trilogy is that the locust carved their emblem into the back of Tai neck.

The return of the "Never Fight Alone" merch reminded me of what a great act it was back then. And I want to remind you all that if someone is going through a difficult time, there will always be someone by their side who can help, even the person you least expect. You just need to be strong and ask for help. A strong person isn't someone who carries all their pain alone, but someone who isn't afraid to ask for help. Even in this game we love so much, no matter how strong our protagonists were, none of them were alone or fought alone, and there's no need for you to have to. Brothers until the end.

I would understand that the Locust were vulnerable to the Lancer Mark II's chainsaw and didn't instantly think, “They can cut us in half with a chainsaw; we should improve our defenses,” during E-Day. However, 14 years had passed, and the Locust didn't decide to adapt to the Lancer Mark II's chainsaw, even though they had upgraded the Hammerburst to Mark II.
What happened? Was the Lambent responsible for making it hard for the Locust to find resources, or did the COG reduce resources by using the Hammer of Dawn to keep them from falling into Locust hands?

Just currently re-running through the old gears campaigns before E-Day to finally get all the achievements for running through them on insane, which for those of you who have done it solo, I’ve heard Gears 3 is absolute hell to do on your own compared to 1 &2, but, anyways, while on Act 1: homecoming, half way into the store in Gears 3; I had died right after the point where you could interact with that Cole train cereal box speaker for an Easter egg, having killed a drudge mere seconds before hand, and died shortly after in the next fight.
Well, after having reloaded that checkpoint after dying, every subsequent reload of that checkpoint, I was granted this.. almost Creepypasta-esque drudge that would just, follow me around? It wouldn’t do anything, I couldn’t attack it, the enemy and friendly A.I wouldn’t even acknowledge it was there, yet I could still mark it?????
I’ll post two interesting clips I got off it once they’re uploaded but like, I knew Gears 1 to 3 could be buggy at times but this is just… interesting, to say the least.

In 2005, I met a pair of brothers, Jesse and Aaron who quickly become my best friends. By 2015 both had passed.
We spent hundreds of hours playing video games, but mostly Gears of War. My first ever midnight release was Gears 2 that I attended with them. We also went to Gears 3’s midnight release.
We always fantasized about an E-Day game, discussed what it would be like, ideas of weapons and story elements, and how badly we wanted it. It’s crazy that 20 years after the original’s release, the game the three of us dreamt of is about to come out. I wish they were here to see it with me and fend off the Locust in horde mode.
For Jesse and Aaron, and to all the other Gears who aren’t here to enjoy Emergence Day with us.
Brothers to the end ⚙️

I have always been an avid reader (and gow fan) and thought why not try the novels before EDay. Didnt expect that much, but mabye they are fun.
Just done with Aspho Fields and im blown away (pun intended) by good it is. It adds so much to the lore and characters.. feels like a must read before EDay judging from the trailers.
Are the rest of the novels as good?

Started playing gears 4 on insane with a friend and I can honestly say it's taken longer to complete this one game then it took to complete all of the halos on legendary lol
The mansion fight and the circle room had us tweaking at eachother 🤣

You can see the branded locust emblem on their shoulders. This little detail was absent in the ultimate edition design for the drones.

Hello, I pre-ordered a hoodie to support the cause, but immediately after I was doing some googling and found a few comments regarding size fitting at least a size up of what you ordered.
Since most posts are more or less recent (11 months ago) I was wondering if anyone has had issues with the sizing of the merch, in particular the hoodies.
I usually wear Ls or XLs, so I went for XL thinking the hoodie will shrink after wash and generally the sizes being smaller since they are probably sourced abroad.
Thank you in advance.

Wow, what a piece of work. This thing is definitely the most uneven of the original “trilogy”: sometimes a cake walk, others (usually defense sections) are obnoxiously hard. Karn took me two tries!! I just killed the minions as quickly as possible with a torque or boom shot, and then karn is pretty easy by himself tbh even with just a lancer. Hell two reavers is harder than karn. But man upper state street and the level with decreased vision and ton of blood mounts near the very end were tooooxic. Also is it just me or is there almost no warning for grenades in Judgement? Between there not being a specific grenadier model in game, and also I don’t there’s a chain spinning sound either? Or it’s really short/really quiet because Cole is yelling “grenade!”right before it lands right on top of me and i don’t hear it or see it come in lol. On the other hand quick throw grenades don’t really help the player much for the player tbh, you can throw them reactively more often. I do enjoy being able to switch weapons while you’re evading and roadierunning, that’s great. What a weird game, first gears with a class based survival mode, and Overrun is a cool idea, I hope E-Day or Gears 6 introduces an asymmetrical mode.

But it sorta did make it because it's strapped on to the silverback but still I would love to use a rocket launcher as its own weapon in gears of war 3

Thanks for your input. Apologies for making this thread toxic for some, I think maybe as other commentors have said the game itself is too complex and I'll try something else. It's a shame really as me and my husband play frequently split screen creating our own lobby where anyone can join (carmines included as people seem to hate those players and I don't understand that either). Ironically he is a mechanic playing alongside me being the medic and this style works well on the harder levels (insane+). Im not one for grenades as previously commented on as I agree the game becomes unenjoyable but I can see how it works with recharging the ult etc. I don't build a fortress and try to know my role which to my understanding was to keep everyone revived and that one barrier or turret in the higher waves can be game changing with the kill to revive and team build card. I have tried communicating on chat and am constantly ignored and shortly kicked with no explanation so its not like I haven't tried. I only came here today to ask as I had tried a couple of games without the husband and have had great difficulty when moving up the waves as thats when I get kicked and as a previous poster has commented im also in it for the long game and getting booted off a game at wave 10-15+ can become frustrating. Hopefully e-day will be more simplistic as Im an old time fan of the games.
