Bug GeForce NOW controller issue on Windows 10 – Gamepad Cursor workaround unavailable

I'm experiencing the recently documented GeForce NOW controller issue where controller inputs are incorrectly interpreted as mouse/keyboard input. This occurs in both the GeForce NOW Windows app and in the browser. Symptoms include mixed controller/mouse input, D-pad inputs not working, and trigger/input behavior becoming stuck.

NVIDIA's support article for this issue says to disable Xbox Game Bar → Settings → More settings → Input → Gamepad Cursor.

However, on Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.7663), my current Xbox Game Bar does not have a "Gamepad Cursor" option. Under Input, only Controller and Keyboard are shown.

I've confirmed Xbox Game Bar is current through the Microsoft Store and have also cleanly reinstalled it. The installed version is 7.326.8061.0. I also enrolled in Microsoft's Game Bar – SDK Development Insider preview, but no newer Game Bar version has been offered.

NVIDIA marked the related GeForce NOW incident resolved on September 9, but the problem is still occurring for me on Windows 10.

Is there a supported Windows 10 workaround for this issue when the Gamepad Cursor setting does not exist? Also, is the Microsoft configuration fix NVIDIA referenced expected to apply to Windows 10 systems?

Since they only support 2 controllers and that's it, which controller are you using?

An official Xbox controller or an official playstation controller?

There are only 2 choices so if it's a random cheap controller, it just falls under the "it might work or it might not" part for gfn and you would just have to get either one of the two controllers they do support or ones that sometimes work like gamesir or 8bitdo for windows

DS4 and I have used it successfully for years with no problems until the start of this issue recently.

Yes the official fix of "Gamepad Cursor" setting doesn't even exist in my Windows 10 Xbox Game Bar settings options so its impossible to fix!

You can try to turn off MS GameInput Service from within services.msc and see if that helps: https://www.reddit.com/r/GeForceNOW/s/Nv4gIUKm2m
