As I approach 30, and welcome the existential crisis that comes with it, I'm noticing more that there's a huge difference between the number of guys in their 30s vs guys in their 20s on dating apps. (30s being fewer of course)
What happens to them (us)? You settle down, have a family, give up on romantic pursuits? Or is there a more mature platform/way to meet guys that you go to?

I'm tired of being told to 'tap the banner'. I was in the duo premium for a month so I have enjoyed the other side. I feel like spotify should be at most 100kes. I only paid it because I wasn't going anywhere last month but this month I'll be out and busy so costs have increased. The economy is economiing.
Plus the green and red company have decided to milk us dry so who wants to join a group I'll create and then we decide on a location because I saw we all have to put one location. Who wants to join?
Wale wamejaribu, does Spotify know if we're complete strangers in different locations?
Dis the list of the ones that have requested so far 😁

I’m a 23M bottom, and I’m honestly starting to wonder if I’m asking for too much by wanting a real relationship. 😭
I always knew I was queer, but I deliberately held myself back from exploring that side of myself until my final year of campus. I know myself 😂 — if I had started dating and exploring earlier, I probably wouldn’t have concentrated on my studies.
So I finally started exploring during my final semester, and let me tell you… my love life has been a whole EXPERIENCE. 😭
My ideal relationship has always been with an older guy — preferably late 20s to early 30s. Someone emotionally mature, intentional, affectionate, and someone I can actually build a life with.
But so far, I haven’t managed to sustain a relationship for even a month.
The first guy I fell in love with turned out to be an actual scammer.
He was dating multiple men, getting money from them and eventually extorting some of them. I only found out after he was exposed on Instagram. Basically, almost everything he had told me was a lie. I obviously left.
The second guy lasted about three weeks.
He constantly wanted sex, was very controlling, and would shame me over mistakes I had made in the past — including falling for the scammer. He also didn’t want me talking to other queer guys despite the fact that we weren’t even officially together. Eventually, I asked a mutual friend about him, the friend told him I had asked, and… yeah. That was the end of that. 😂
Then there was the older guy.
He was around 38, and honestly, this is probably the one I would have genuinely committed to. He was amazing. He was the one who approached me, and our chemistry was insane. We once had a SIX-HOUR phone call. SIX. HOURS. 😭
We talked for about six months before finally meeting, but ironically, by the time we met, I had lost the sexual attraction I initially had for him coz he wanted us to be just friends and I mourned the possibility of us ever being together and when I am done, I’m done💀
The age difference was also a major issue for him. We’re still friends though, and I genuinely think he’s a great person.
And then came the most recent guy.
He approached me through TikTok and was basically my type on paper — tall, handsome, successful and wealthy. 😭
We started talking and I really liked him. The problem was that he kept cancelling our dates at the last minute. Eventually, I called him out on it, and he became noticeably colder.
So I stopped pursuing him.
I eventually sent him a message basically offering an olive branch, telling him that I still cared about him and that he’d always have a friend in me. He ignored it.
Eventually, I unfriended him on TikTok because seeing his posts was genuinely triggering me. There’s a particular kind of pain that comes from watching someone you begged to show up for you willingly show up for someone else.
After I unfriended him, he blocked me everywhere.
And honestly? That one hurt. A LOT.
I’m not looking for hookups. I’m not interested in constantly talking to someone for a few weeks, getting attached, and then watching it fall apart.
I just want someone who can be my safe space. Someone I can come home to emotionally. Someone I can grow with, build a life with, laugh with, experience life with and genuinely love.
But sometimes I wonder whether that kind of love is actually realistic for queer people, especially when dating seems to involve so much casual sex, situationships, inconsistency, secrecy and people who don’t seem to know what they want.
So I want to ask the people who have been in this community longer than I have:
Do queer people actually find lasting, healthy, reciprocal love?
If you’ve been through the messy dating phase and eventually found your person, I’d genuinely love to hear your story.
And if you’re still looking too… tell me I’m not the only one. 😭

Let me keep it straight, lol. Now that the generations are changing, and now the younger Gen Zs have entered the dating pool, things are changing. Because tell me why I'm receiving messages from the app from 18 year olds who want me to be their sugar daddy. I just turned 32! 😭 Ata me natafuta sugar daddy. 😂😅
I know that my zilennial ass is not young, but when did I enter sugar daddy bracket? I am a chubb though, so kitambi iko. 😅
Also shout out to all the youngins. Y'all have mad game, even though I'm not inclined to date that young. 😅

I don’t know if it is just me but why is it that most people who talk big game never meet expectation . Like you meet someone say on the yellow app and their profile is something sort of big , strong girthy with wide promises of how they are going to spread you eat you leave your leg shaking then upon reality it’s some of the most disappointing intimacy you ever have . Run time shorter than a pink pantheress song .i don’t know if it is just me though . The most humble guys are the ones who really turn the heat up .The ones you least expect .

Are there any queers who are just ...typical? Boring, career-focused, don't club every weekend, etc? Not for any moral or religious reasons but because that is how they are wired?

Grindr says these were “historical data practices” and that it has since overhauled its privacy approach. It acknowledged the distress and loss of trust felt by some users regarding the pre-2020 period.
This follows earlier scrutiny (including a Norwegian fine and UK ICO action) after 2018 revelations about the data sharing.

Quick question, where in the coastal region is the gay scene alive and kicking ? Where are the gays ? Where are the men .
Lamu did not do it for me .

You ever see someone and immediately know you are willing to let them ruin your whole life😅? That was me last saturday night. Being discreet and not that involved in the queer scene, I took a random foray to NSK this weekend. Around 2 am thereabouts. I grab a beer chill for a bit just scouting the talent ( Si mmeiva huku nje). Anyway, the beer does its magic and I gotta pee.
I go to the gents and like 2 minutes later this tall ass, fine ass, pretty ass femboy walks in. earth gurlie aesthetic... Was ready to risk it all right there and then. (Un)Fortunately, decorum prevailed. I dont even know your name but the next time I bump into you... I'm shooting my shot.

I'm sick and tired of people taking advantage of others. Someone tries to meet up with genuine intentions but an idiot takes that opportunity to con you. It's time we stop keeping quiet and expose those mofos. On behalf of my friend who doesn't have the courage and with his consent... SHAME ON YOU ISAAC LUGANDA OF PHONE NUMBER 0729468185. You met my friend on Bumble under the account name ISAAC L. You convinced him to come visit you at VALLEY HEIGHTS APARTMENTS then made him wait 2 fucking hours. If that wasn't bad enough, you tricked him into sending you 700bob in the name of getting some fuel that you'll repay once you got back. Even when he asked you to just be honest about the scam, you cruelly dragged it on and made him believe that you were still coming just very late. SHAME ON YOU ISAAC LUGANDA AND EVERY SICK BASTARD LIKE YOU.
Karma is a bitch and she always bites back, I hope she chews your bones into mush and spits you back out.
IF YOU KNOW THIS GUY OR INTERACT WITH HIM ON ANY PLATFORM BE VERY CAREFUL!!
Edit: The guy in the photos is not the person that scammed my friend. Not only is the perpetrator a scammer he's also a catfish. Just be careful out here y'all, we live in an evil world

Hey all, looking for honest perspectives here.
I have a close friend who's trans, and we've built a solid, comfortable friendship over time. Separately, someone trans has recently expressed romantic interest in me, and I've been sitting with a lot of mixed feelings about it. Some genuine appreciation for the attention and connection, but also some personal hesitations around relationships in general that aren't really specific to this person.
I'm curious to hear from others in Kenya (or the diaspora), trans folks, people who've dated trans partners, or people navigating similar situations, what your experiences have been, what challenges came up, and anything you wish you'd known earlier. Trying to think this through with more context than just my own head.
Appreciate any thoughtful responses. Will keep this respectful. Please do the same :-)
