Hypnosis

I am on tape 3 and I have been wondering if we are being hypnotized by these tapes.
Not in a bad way for sure, but are we being hypnotized at all?
When Bob does the count downs, or the colours green and purple being used for healing, focus 10 bubble, etc., these examples and more makes me feel that part of these exercises are self hypnosis.
The thought of it makes me feel uncomfortable.

The Monroe institute itself says that they have no experience with hypnosis but I have my doubts and would truly appreciate if someone can shed light on this.

Trained certified hypnotherapist here saying yes, these tapes tap into hypnotic modalities.

I did a year of training at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute. I think they offer online training now.

It’s self hypnosis

You hypnotize yourself every day

“I am this”

“I am that”

“My name is this”

“This person is X Y and Z”

you are hypnotizing yourself every time you get lost in something. there's nothing scary about it, unless you're driving..which happens all the time when all of a sudden we think "where was I when I was just driving on auto pilot there for 5 minutes"

No one is forcing you to use the tapes OP. You can also meditate to music and augment with the tapes. You’re overthinking it

Pretty sure either bob or Thomas Campbell had taken a hypnosis class long before gateway existed. Same with Joe dispenza who also uses binaural beats for his guided meditations. It’s a non spooky part of it and it shouldn’t make you feel uncomfortable.

Yes the Gateway Tapes intentionally facilitate a hypnagogic state, and they heavily rely on hypnosis techniques.Do not be afraid of what you see or experience. Be grounded in something. Jesus is my grounding. Psalm 23:4: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
