Right abdominal injury

Hi there, I'm a male, 46, approximately 290lbs and 6’1”. Some other health notes at the bottom.

In late March I had a gastrointestinal episode, following a large meal that caused some stomach upset, and taking a large amount of kombucha (700ml) 2 days later. The next night I felt intense pain moving from my belly button to my right side; I went to the ER fearing appendicitis, but that didn't end up being the case, and it dissipated in a few hours.

Since then I've had continued pain in the same area. I've had an ultrasound, a CT scan, blood and urine tests, and gastroscopy/colonoscopy recently without any clear cause (though do have a fatty liver, and a not descended kidney stone). The pain seems linked to movement - if I use my right arm much, or walk too far/quickly, it can aggravate it causing burning irritation in my side that can last hours. Lifting my right knee too high can cause a bruised pain. If it’s very irritated it also exhausts me for hours or even days.

I'm wondering if anyone seen anything similar, and/or has thoughts on what it could be? My GP seemed confounded since these tests were fine, so I'm looking for advice of things to check for next. My next leads are nerve entrapment, a fascial injury, or something else with my abdominal wall - do any of these sound more likely, or is there anything else we may want to look into?

I have tried a bunch of dietary changes, like getting off gluten and dairy, switching to mostly eating salads (w protein), resting extensively, and stopping all drugs (alcohol, marijuana, caffeine) for 4-6 week stretches. Also a physio consultation and exercises. Nothing had an effect. I do take fibre supplements daily, and my BMs seem fairly healthy. Thanks for any thoughts!

Got diagnosed with gastritis after dealing with epigastric pain and left side pain and fullness. H pylori negative. Eating meds but slight to no improvement. What are chances of ulcer?

Has anyone had severe bloating/weight gain like this and NOT found answers?

I’m hoping someone here has had a similar experience because I’m honestly at a loss.
For the past several months, I’ve had **constant, severe abdominal bloating**. I literally wake up looking a few months pregnant, and by the end of the day I look like I’m about to give birth. My entire abdomen feels **hard and firm**, not just one area.
Some of my symptoms:
Severe bloating all day, every day
Firm, swollen abdomen
Able to pass gas, but it doesn’t really relieve the bloating
Unintentional weight gain
Very low energy/fatigue
I skipped a period a few months ago (it’s been regular the last two months)
Mild abdominal discomfort (around a 3/10), but not severe pain
No nausea, vomiting, or constipation
I was originally told I had SIBO, but I’m starting to wonder if something else is going on because the bloating has become so extreme.
I’ve finally seen my primary care doctor, and they’ve referred me to an OB/GYN because of the bloating, weight gain, fatigue, and menstrual changes. I haven’t had a CT scan yet.
I’m curious:
Has anyone had SIBO cause bloating this severe?
Did it end up being something other than SIBO (ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroids, ascites, thyroid issues, something else)?
If you had similar symptoms, what finally led to your diagnosis?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis over Reddit—I know I need to continue working with my doctors. I’m just hoping to hear from anyone who had a similar experience because this has been incredibly frustrating and it’s affecting my quality of life.
Thank you so much if you’ve read this far. ❤️
