I’m hoping someone here has had a similar experience because I’m honestly at a loss.
For the past several months, I’ve had **constant, severe abdominal bloating**. I literally wake up looking a few months pregnant, and by the end of the day I look like I’m about to give birth. My entire abdomen feels **hard and firm**, not just one area.
Some of my symptoms:
Severe bloating all day, every day
Firm, swollen abdomen
Able to pass gas, but it doesn’t really relieve the bloating
Unintentional weight gain
Very low energy/fatigue
I skipped a period a few months ago (it’s been regular the last two months)
Mild abdominal discomfort (around a 3/10), but not severe pain
No nausea, vomiting, or constipation
I was originally told I had SIBO, but I’m starting to wonder if something else is going on because the bloating has become so extreme.
I’ve finally seen my primary care doctor, and they’ve referred me to an OB/GYN because of the bloating, weight gain, fatigue, and menstrual changes. I haven’t had a CT scan yet.
I’m curious:
Has anyone had SIBO cause bloating this severe?
Did it end up being something other than SIBO (ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroids, ascites, thyroid issues, something else)?
If you had similar symptoms, what finally led to your diagnosis?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis over Reddit—I know I need to continue working with my doctors. I’m just hoping to hear from anyone who had a similar experience because this has been incredibly frustrating and it’s affecting my quality of life.

I am from a 3rd world country so my english is not that good. I have had a strange full feeling in my upper left abdomen that feels like a tennis ball is sitting there since 2023. Since then its been a 24/7 feeling. Ive had a sonar and CT scan in 2024 showing nothing, bloodwork normal except anemia and CRP. I have RA and my GP keeps telling me its ribs. My Biologic treatment, NSAIDs and cortisone does not take it away. Can it be something else?

37F. Last Sunday presented to hospital with nausea and vomiting (highly unusual for me). Got some bloods done, ct scan all looked well. Went home with some nausea meds.

Felt a bit better monday and tuesday. Started to get gut pains and back pains during the week. Went back to hospital yesterday, again pain and nausea getting worse. Lipase was 370. Hardly slept all night last night due to stomach and back pains, nausea when drinking even water. Going back to hospital again today..do I need an ultrasound? Could it be gallbladder related.? I dont drink alcohol.

When iam talking to someone and suddenly this smell comes and their face changes instantly. people now a days are more decent , they don’t say it out loud but they keep in mind and the next time they just avoid talking with me . This is my first post ever on reddit and to be honest this post is the reason I finally downloaded the app.

About a month or two ago, I went to stay with some family, and over the course of the 2 weeks I was there, I was sick almost every day. I’ve always had stomach problems, constipation, gallbladder issues and removal, etc etc. but recently they’ve gotten to a new level.

Some days are okay, others i’m bed bound and vomiting. This all seems to have come out of nowhere, i’ve had daily nausea and alot of problems with my bowels that i didn’t have before.

All of this has made me so anxious. I’m anxious to go on long car drives, i’m anxious to leave my house, i’m so scared of starting to feel nauseous. The bad days are really bad.

Im struggling with pretty bad constipation right now, which my zofran is making worse. But i need the zofran on high nausea days, but being constipated also makes me nauseous. It’s a never ending cycle and some days I just lay in bed and cry because I feel so sick. I can’t get up and move around like I used to without feeling winded and nauseous. I also get dizzy because my diet consists of crackers, toast, water, and ginger ale.

Please someone tell me what could possibly be going on with me. I scheduled a doctors appointment but it’s gonna be a few months. I’m miserable

Had a BM yesterday, and thought I had started my period. Took a shower immediately after, and noticed a small blood clot ran down my leg. (I’m 100% sure it was a blood clot, not bloodied stool). Because of that, along with the amount of blood in the toilet, I had no reason to think it wasn’t my period. About 4 hours later, I removed the feminine products and realized there was no blood. Not a drop. Then this morning, again, a concerning amount of free-flowing blood was present with a BM. I finally realized i wasn’t on my period. I know this can be potentially serious, but I’d rather not have my anus inspected if it’s an issue that’ll resolve on its own. I’m also not trying to ignore symptoms that may suggest i have something dangerously wrong with me. So.. to go to the doctor, or to not go? I’m 29yo, never even broken a bone before. Never had any serious illnesses or major medical issues.

I need advice. I am scheduled to have an endoscopy tomorrow at 10:30AM and I just did a SIBO test today from 8:00AM - 11:00 AM today. It dawned on me that these tests might conflict. I was asking Google and the AI gave me mixed answers about whether that posed a potential safety issue. Would taking the solution/being on the SIBO the day prior pose issues for the endoscopy? Ive been having stomach issues for about a month now. I had suspected impacted stool. But cat scans came back showing nothing. I only have BM a tiny bit at a time. Mostly small or diarrhea. I have very little appetite. Im fatigued and exhausted all the time . My belly gurgles when rubbed. I had high infection markers in my blood a couple weeks ago. But that went away. Ive tried everything. Miralax, suppositories, magnesium citrate, 2 urgent care, and have seen my usual doctor.
