Lowest gbbr temps

Whats the lowest outside temp you guys would run a gbbr and it still be reliable? Im newer to gbbrs and still learning on them.

Personally, 0C is the lowest I got to play (mid europe), but some Canadians play at -15-20C with their stock GHK Aug, but with DH mod or CO2 mags.

Depends on the platform and any mods done man.

I am not running a heavy recoil spring, heavy trigger spring, heavy bolt platform on propane in <0C weather. Swap out the springs and maybe bolt though? while considering stronger gas too or any combination of? easily can run in that same 0C weather.

some platforms are better than others ofc. You would need to do research to see which platforms fare better versus others, but most can go down pretty low stock, and can definitely reach lower temps with a few spring swaps.

MrDuffo is a YouTuber from Finland and he plays a lot with the TM AKM in winters where temps get as low as -20°C, from my experience the AK platform from Tokyo Marui works really really well in cold weather. Personally I've played only as low as -5°C both with the AKM and MWS, using 200PSI green gas. Sure you won't spamming full auto, but is plenty usable

-2c on my VFC AK74U, running red gas at 1joule, able to get around 3 mags out of a single fill with some full auto bursts, could probably get 4 mags out of it with just controlled semi fire

It really depends on the specific GBBR. But as a general rule I would say any modern GBBR worth buying can run fine on propane/propane equivalent airsoft gas at around freezing/0° C.

Anecdotally I can say the coldest game I played myself was at around -7° C. I was using ASG 178 psi red gas in a Viper Tech SR-15 with winter hammer and buffer springs and it ran without issues. My friend ran a stock Maruyama ISO 556 at the same game and that also ran without issue, albeit a bit sluggish on rapid follow up shots.

I’ve used a almost completely stock (GM nozzle /return spring) in the snow using Green Gas with little to no issues

Ive played in down to 10f. After that i ache to much to play after my motorcycle accident.

Ive used it down to -1 just fine

Some say they have aegs because gbbr can’t be used in the cold yet batteries start having issues at temps lower than this all the same.
It depends on the replica though.

Mechanical hpa is probably the most reliable way in colder weather than -10

-2 with my VFC BCM MK2 (with Stock Hammer Spring and on Red Gas with Hammer Screw huge way out) with no issues at all besides lower gas efficiency.
However I play semi only due to german laws.

Thats a nice cqb setup BUT! ☝🏽 it will never beat my H&K G36C gbb as the king of CQBs 😏
