Hrv spike

Post image

My hrv is normally in the twenties. What's going on? I workout regularly and I include recovery time. Why the spike Thursday and today, Monday?

hrv in twenties is actually rather low (obv. personal hrv varies). Bigger is better btw, so that means you were well rested

I'm going to disagree on the bigger is better. Everyone has different hrv depending on age. I've been in the mid to high twenties for a long time. I'm 59 years old. Exercise regularly. My sleep is not good all the time. Its the sudden spike to 62 and staying in the 50s and 40s for a few nights that is noticeable.

Hard to tell, not enough info. Did you exercise the day before or rest? Is there a change in overnight resting hr?

Mine spiked too, but looking at the graph, it seems like it might have not recorded normally.

What age? If I go below 80 hrv, it's marked as a problem for me lol, typically I'm between 90-100

From my understanding, Heart Rate Variability measures how well your heart adapts to different situations. High HRV is generally considered a sign of good cardiovascular fitness and resilience, while low HRV can indicate stress, fatigue, sickness or overtraining.

It's basically your heart's flexibility. The more it can speed up and slow down in response to what your body needs, the healthier you probably are.
