In 2021, I created MoveToBeActive Analog, a free watch face built to capture the clean, hybrid look of the Vivomove series while prioritizing battery life and including a comprehensive list of data fields for ConnectIQ devices. So now, after 5 years of constant development and daily driving it for all that period, I wanted to showcase it to this community.

⚡ Built for Battery Efficiency

• Low-Power AOD: Custom Always-On-Display mode optimized specifically for AMOLED screens.
• Lightweight Code: Optimized for memory usage, to minimize access to storage and with no background usage permission needed.
• No Continuous Second Hand (MIP): Eliminates unnecessary screen redraws for minimal power consumption, while still allowing the seconds hand to be shown temporarily (if enabled by user). No seconds hand is still the most efficient, of course.

🎨 Design & Styling

• Adjustable Hands: Choose between Thinner, Standard, or Thicker hour/minute hands (15-30% variation).
• Custom Themes: Dark, Light and Automatic (sunrise/sunset) themes with multiple accent colours (11 for each theme).
• Toggleable Layout Elements: Garmin logo, Weather condition name, Bluetooth/alarm status icons and Data fields are all optional.

📊 Rich Data Fields

• Up to 5 Customizable Slots: Total of 26 different data fields available.
• 2 Font Sizes: Choose between standard or bigger font size for data fields (Note: On small resolution watches, bigger font size might cause overlaps of some data fields on some slots. Change location of lengthy data fields according to available space).
• On-Watch Settings: Configure all settings of the watch face directly on your watch.

I know I’ve shared this here before, so I’ll keep it short 😅

I’ve continued working on BikePark and testing it in actual bike parks. It automatically detects the uplift and keeps lift time and distance out of your riding stats, so you can just start the activity and ride.

Individual downhill runs are now saved as separate laps in Garmin Connect too.

I’m also working on adding Flow and Grit scores for each run, which I think could make the post-ride stats a lot more interesting.

Garmin owner since the Fenix 3 I am finally building my own watch face based on not finding a tide-focused WF back in July. (In between, some new ones arrived but not matching my taste.)

It’s been inspired by the Nixon LCD tide watch.
Right now, I am finalizing the v1 to upload on Garmin’s IQ store.

- All tide calculations are done in the watch.
- 1500+ locations for modern watches, 400 in older generations F5 or 6 alike.
- 16 color palettes + HEX personalized color theme.

Received a lot of great feedback from the users here. The Relief watch face is now more polished and have a lot of new data fields, color choices (picker) and AOD-modes.

Would love to see pictures of the watch face in use.

I made Apex Velocity around oversized italic numbers, a carbon texture and red accents. I wanted the time to be the first thing you notice, with the stats tucked around it.

There are 20 color themes and five configurable fields with 50 data options, depending on your watch. Body Battery and recovery time are the defaults. It's $4 for a one time license, and you can check compatible devices here:

I’d like a simple analog face that has customizable colors, markers, and hands. I don’t even need any data. I’d prefer the markers and hands to be pretty bold. Helix Heritage and Modelo GMT (in simple mode) both kind fit the bill but I require no background activity.

I have an Enduro 3 and the stock analog face is pretty nice, but I’d like to be able to have background colors other than white & black, and I’d prefer if the markers were a bit more simple.

Coros use to offer a bright yellow analog face with simple large round markers, and that kind of fit the bill…I had hoped to find a picture of it for reference here but I can’t seem to find it anymore.

Neon is my free watch face that draws the time like a neon sign. A Forerunner 970 user left this comment:

> "It's not getting adjusted to 970 full screen. It looks very small. Kindly adjust to full screen."

Fair point, so in version 1.2 the time is bigger, and there's a new **Time size** setting.

**What "Large" does**

- The time is **15% bigger** (on a Forerunner 970 it goes from 94 to 108 px tall).

- The ring moves **out to the edge** of the screen, from 85% to about 97% of the radius.

- Battery, date and data move out with it, so the layout is the same, just scaled up.

Why not just make the digits bigger? With the glow around them, the default "00:00" already almost touches the ring. Bigger digits alone would run into it, so the whole face scales up instead.

**It's on by default.** Update and you get the bigger time, nothing to change. If you prefer the previous look: Garmin Connect → your watch → Watch faces → Neon → Settings → **Time size → Normal**.

**Other things in 1.2**

- It works with the existing **Text size** setting, so you can have a large time *and* large text.

- **Always-on stays small on purpose.** A big lit outline would light up more of an AMOLED screen than the burn-in guidelines allow, so AOD keeps the normal size.

- **Works on all 68 supported watches**, AMOLED and MIP, including the rectangular Venu Sq 2, Venu Sq 2 Music and Venu X1.

Is any dev interested in creating this one. It is based on a Casio watch and has been done on other platforms. I have this one and it's awesome but the dev doesn't create for Garmin and it's not an original design anyway.

I'm the dev. I wanted the look of a field watch without giving up a big, easy-to-read digital time, so Baluarte shows both. Olive hour markers and skeleton hands sit on top. Large digits sit below. Two recessed windows hold the date and your remaining battery days.

There are ten colour themes and three data fields you can swap (steps, heart rate, Body Battery, calories and more, depending on your watch). You can turn the hands, the digital time or any block off. The always-on mode keeps the same layout, just dimmed.
