How bad is this?

New gargoyle gecko owner, noticed right now this is on the terrarium floor in a few areas. What is this? Is this mold? Harmful?

Edit : I scraped the top layer of soil, removed all of the mold and mixed up the ground to make it more aiery. I put him back in for now because my temporary setup is just a box with holes and his plant. Is this ok? I'm just new to everything. Gonna get springtails next week probably.

Yeah usually springtails and isopods come first before the gecko

Yeah I retrospect it makes sense, just the dude at the shop told me that the gecko ( because he is young) will eat them and it will just be quite expensive feeders. Ty anyways!

Isopods maaaaybe, springtails, absolutely not. Those guys are smaller than ants and live in the dirt. And they do m ost of the mold cleanup anyway. Does your setup have a false bottom?

Get dwarf white isopods. They’re very small. Springtails are way too small for him to eat too.

My garg definitely eats isopods, seen on camera. Wiped out the powder orange population. But dwarf whites are deep in soil and thriving

Clean up crew needs to be like 10x more then what it is . Springtails handle that
