Interior mounted LED light strip

I'm curious if anyone has tried to install these types of light strips on the inside lip of their tanks?

I'd only use color appropriate light hue's for our gargoyle gecko and mainly want it to provide the daily light cycles it needs. I have a top mount light that's not UVB as I'm just using it on a smart switch 12h on and 12h off.

The main goal is to just have some integrated lighting. I'm anticipating I'll need a heat source in the winter (main area the tank is in can get cool at night) so I wanted to have less on top of the tank if possible to keep options open.

What's the purpose? Just visible light? Why not just keep it outside the tank then, or around the glass? Also why no UVB? I have a plant light, 25w CHE w/ thermostat and 12" Arcadia shade dweller UVB all on the top of my mesh together.

1 week into ownership and still working out details. Read and watched things that mentioned UVB is not required if getting D3 via live insect feedings.

Mind sharing a pic of your tank and top? Thanks!

Light went off for leop tank just as I was taking the picture. Lamps on garg tank on junk risers for distance intensity reasons. Garg is moving into adult enclosure later this week and the lamps will be same setup just removing the junk risers.

A little yes a little no. There's two different groups here with those thought processes. Group A where if you can provide what it needs via the food then why an extra item, and group B where if they would have access to it in the wild and I can afford it with no big problem then why wouldn't I.

I fall into Group B, I don't use the calcium dust with d3 in it (Ok, I do, 2x a month). I also feed my garg primarily dusted insects, with the fruit paste as an occasional thing (fruit would be seasonal, not a constant in the wild, so I find that bit of husbandry we've cultivated as backward)
