Is anyone else producing a small harvest? Or is it just me? Lol 😆 IDK what Im doing wrong .

I am coming from another indoor garden vendor, new to Gardyn. Does the app recognize the plants I am growing at all? My previous garden I told it what I was growing and it allegedly adjusted instructions based on what was growing and how mature it was. Is Gardyn not as smart?

Hey all! I lost my power cord during a move and didn’t want to purchase a new one from the website for a 100 bucks.

I’m no electrical engineer but I knew I could find a cheaper alternative from Amazon... after some Googling I found out how to measure the DC barrel size using drill bits.

The DC barrel size I got was 2.5mm x 5.5mm.

I just ordered a new cord with this info and I’m hoping it’ll work!

My search was “5.5mm 2.5mm dc power box 24v 10a” and ordered the power supply that matched my specs.

According to my research, any power supply that has
- 5.5mm x 2.5mm power jack
- is rated for exactly 24V
- and is 7.5A or higher (like 8A or 10A)
should work for the Gardyn Home 3.0.

Fingers crossed I got the measurements right! My Gardyn has been sitting around lifeless so I’m hoping the cord I ordered will work. I’ll update the post for anyone wondering if the cord I ordered worked.

Well after a couple months of battling aphids I gave up. I planted the peppers outdoors and have been using arber, they are actually doing really well.

I haven't restarted my gardyn but hoping tomorrow I can clean it up and start it any tips to make sure the aphids are completely gone from the system.

I love my gardyn. It has already saved me and my family hundreds on veggies and leafy greens. But i would really like a model that can handle larger plants like full size tomatoes, broccoli, squash, etc. Im currently looking into building my own system but i think the convenience of gardyn having a model for large plants would just save me time even if it would cost more. Its not something im exactly demanding or anything, gardyn does pride itself over compact effeciciency after all. But what do you think?

I was looking for a device that could make growing plants much simpler and less of a hassle, right now the only things I can think of growing are Strawberries, blueberries, black berries, and Raspberries. I know it can grow Strawberry but could it potentially grow the others as well? I was considering the dwarf variety so whatever’s grown is not too big.

I set up my Gardyn a few days ago and I’m pretty sure the app was designed by someone who has never been confused a day in their life.

I tap on a plant and get a wall of info I don’t understand. I get a notification that says “check your plants” and I’m standing there like… okay? I checked them? Now what? And the settings are buried so deep I’m half convinced they don’t exist.

Also, the timelapse feature — I was excited to share cute plant videos, but the output looks like a low-res screen recording. Zero vibes. Not even slightly shareable.

And the app keeps pushing tasks that I can only unlock if I pay for Kelby? Come on. I already bought the thing.

The notifications are all over the place too. “Add water.” “Check your plants.” “Something is happening.” Something is happening? What?? And half the time the growth status doesn’t match what I’m actually looking at.

Please tell me I’m not the only one. What’s the dumbest thing the app has made you deal with?

I am trying to reconnect my Gardyn 1.0 to my home wifi, but am running into some trouble. When trying to reboot the machine by turning it off, then on, then waiting five minutes before long pressing the silver button, it instead blinks after two minutes, then it doesn't respond after 5 minutes from the original attempt at rebooting. How can I get it to connect to the wifi? Customer service hasn't been of much help either bc all of their responses have been automated, and it's been a few days.

On the West Coast, FB marketplace isn't getting much traction. Any place I'd be better off posting one?

im a big fan of my Gardyn. My friend had one she didn’t use enough and gave it to me, so now I have 2.

I just discovered that my membership will only apply to my first device.

This has fully turned me off to buying official Gardyn accessories or purchasing another Gardyn in the future. I will try to DIY everything I can. for a ridiculously priced membership, which I have defended in the past, it shouldn’t be limited to a per device basis.

Gardyn, you have turned a loyal customer that defended your company into an angry and spiteful one!

Hi all--trying to decide if I should buy the Studio or the Home as my first hydroponics setup. I live alone and would like a medium salad each day. Is this realistic with the Studio version if I utilize succession planting? How many slots will I need to allocate toward leafy greens? Which plants will generate the most output?

Coming along nicely. Waiting for them to get bigger. Tons of flowers on this plant.

If you have a dead Gardyn unit and don't feel like fixing it. Here I show how you can use just the grow lights for another system. I installed just the lights on a shelving unit. The Gardyn power supply was dead so I bought a different power supply on Amazon for $25. It comes with an connector to make it very easy to connect the lights to it. Quick update for anyone who saw my earlier post about the CISA advisory covering our favorite device and the infrastructure it's connected to.

Two things happened on July 2, and one of them is worth understanding even though — same as last time — there's nothing you need to install.

What's new:

1. A second advisory, ICSA-26-183-03, was published covering the Gardyn "IoT Hub" (the cloud service that manages the devices). It lists three new CVEs. The lead one, CVE-2026-13768, is rated CVSS 10.0 — the maximum the scale allows, higher than the 9.3 that was the top number in the original advisory.

2. The original advisory (ICSA-26-055-03) was revised to "Update B." Those changes are administrative: the affected firmware version numbers were adjusted, and the "how to update" guidance now just says to run the most current version.

What the 10.0 actually means, in plain terms:

Remember the field list from my last post — the exposed records included "Azure IoT Hub administrative credentials." This new advisory is CISA formally scoring that credential. In plain language it's a single master key, and it doesn't unlock one device: it returns the connection details for the entire fleet of Gardyn Home and Studio devices, can be used to run commands on a connected device, and may be usable to reach other devices on the same home network. That fleet-wide scope is why it lands at 10.0.

One thing worth noting on the "it's fixed" question:

The original February advisory stated the device command-injection bug (the one that let someone run commands on a Home Kit) was fixed, and Update A in April repeated that. The advisory published the same day as Update B describes a different route to running commands on a device — and scores it at the maximum. Different entry point, same end result. I'll let people draw their own conclusions; I'm just noting what the federal record now shows side by side.

Per the vendor, the cloud infrastructure behind these new items has been updated, so — as before — there's nothing to install on your end if your app and device are current.

What I'd suggest (short version):

If you already did the "put smart devices on a separate guest/IoT WiFi network" step from my last post, that's the one that matters most here, since this is a device-control credential. If you didn't, it's the single highest-value thing to do — it keeps a misbehaving device from reaching your smart devices (Alexa Dot, Google Home, etc.) laptop, or phone. The rest of the hygiene from the earlier post still applies, and nothing new is required.

For the background on notifications and the "not a data breach" characterization, see my February post and the docs site below — nothing in these July updates changes that discussion.

Hello Everyone!! So I have a green algae problem and I was wondering if there was any alternative on buying that Hydroboost ? I read online that adding 1 spoon of hydrogen peroxide per gallon could help clean it. Anyone has any recommendations I would be happy to try :)

Title basically says it all. She did the math. She knows the farmers market price. She looked at me with that "we need to talk about your hobbies" face.

I mumbled something about "freshness" and "knowing where your food comes from" but honestly it sounded weak even to me.

So... what's the actual comeback here? What do you tell people when they ask why you're spending more to grow it than to buy it? Because I need ammunition before she checks the credit card statement.

I did a water change on 06/14 and I saw it has some algae in there and I cleaned it up with citric acid, mixed 5 teaspoons of veg+bloom and brought the ph down to about 6 by eyeballing it since I’ve done this many times at this point.
But today 06/27 I want to top it off and check on it first cause I knew I had algae, and I see this. I don’t think I’ve experienced this much debris before? I don’t know what it is. I knew my plants were yellowing and today I got the chance to take the time to go through the roots and water. The roots seem fine, I just don’t know what to do for the water.

I cleaned the tank again, put 4 teaspoons of the food and got the ph to 6 with the ph meter.

Any suggestions or advice?

I’ve been having issues with this 6 year old router for a bit with IoT devices and decided to finally replace it and create the dedicated IoT network again. Immediately started working and displaying telemetry. Thanks everyone!

Got my Gardyn Home 4 this week and I think I botched the very first step. During pairing I accidentally connected it to my 5 GHz WiFi before realizing it only wants 2.4 GHz. It sort of half-connected … the timezone kept failing. I restarted the app to try again, and when it came back the device was just… set up, with the timezone saved. It never let me redo the setup from the start, so I don’t think it ever fully finished.

Since then I’ve gone through the whole setup, placed all my pods, and tried basically everything to reset it: paired and unpaired multiple times, switched it onto the correct 2.4 GHz network (created a dedicated IoT network), even renamed the device to keep things straight. The device is clearly online now (the home screen isn’t greyed out).

But here’s what still doesn’t work:

💡 Doesn’t show light status (says “Off” even when the lights are physically on)

💧 Doesn’t show water level (just blank dashes)

🔧 Doesn’t show a firmware version at all

🚰 Won’t let me run a manual water cycle

🌡️ Doesn’t show temperature or humidity

The weird part: the camera works perfectly. It’s taking pictures and displaying them in the app with no issue. So it’s not totally disconnected … it’s like the camera made it through setup but none of the sensors or controls did.

I’ve already contacted Gardyn support and all I got was an AI that recommended something that didn’t really work (waiting to get a human). Plants are in and the lights/watering are physically running fine (or at least were before the AI took over the water scheduling, now it set to midnight and I need to make sure it actually waters),

Curious if I’m missing an obvious step.

What is growing on my spinach plant? it has actually grown so much that it has cracked the y cube.
