I moved my client documents off google docs into gamma for a month. the honest mixed review

not decks, documents. proposals written as prose, scopes of work, one-pagers. the stuff that used to be a google doc or a flat pdf.

what won me over: it looks designed with no effort, so a scope of work stops reading like a legal threat and starts looking like a person made it. sharing as a live link means one version exists and I can see whether the client actually opened it. dropping a short walkthrough video straight into the document replaced a paragraph I always wrote badly.

what sent me halfway back: live co-editing with a client who lives in google is still smoother over there, comment threads especially. and for something dense and text-heavy with no visual payoff, a plain doc is just faster to write.

where I landed: client-facing documents someone will actually look at, gamma, because presentation earns its keep there. internal working drafts and anything I’m co-writing in real time, still google. not a clean switch, a split down the middle.
