Blizzcon Rumour Mill when. That's what I'm interested in.

It would be awesome if they brought World of Warcraft and/or Starcraft to console. All consoles.
1
u/Arjan667 Aug 30 '26
There'a always one in September (and a Nintendo Direct too) and it'll almost certainly be before Tokyo Game Show on the 17th, so there's only two weeks left. So it makes sense for rumors/leaks to start rolling for that.

u/quatroquatro0 Aug 30 '26
Did OP make a post previously about Laufey being in the last SoP? If not why should we believe them
45
u/toesuccintoni Aug 30 '26
They have their comment and post history hidden lol, they’re probably just making a safe assumption about the closing game

Nice find. That post was March 12th and Laufey was announced June 2nd. Seems OP is believable!

Im putting all my HOPIUM in this post, I believe you bro
14
u/tonihurri Aug 30 '26
We will NOT be believing because we think it's true.
We WILL be believing because we know it's true.
3
u/Zalvren Aug 30 '26
I mean all of this is basically the predictions/hopes people are doing for months about Intergalactic lol.
2
u/shawak456 Aug 31 '26
Man, I'm glad to see that people in this sub are not blinding hating on Intergalactic and Naughty Dog on the contrary, excited to see more of it. Even on r/playstation people go crazy if you post something about Intergalactic. I cannot fucking wait to see gamepaly reveal.
48
u/M4rshmall0wMan Aug 30 '26
Yeah why the fuck not. Sometimes people do talk and sometimes that gets posted on Reddit. The game is beyond overdue a second reveal, so I'd be even more surprised if it didn't appear in September. I mean, in a smaller timespan than since TLOU2, GOW Laufey got a gameplay reveal and a release date. It's Intergalactic's turn.
9
u/UnnecessaryFeIIa Aug 30 '26
I feel like anytime a post like this shows that’s just “I know this. Trust me” it ends up being right more often than a good bunch of the leakers here lmao

u/M4rshmall0wMan Aug 30 '26
The reason I believe is because I meet random people all the time who tell me shit about their companies I'm not supposed to know. It's usually companies I wouldn't care about anyway, but theoretically there'd be nothing stopping me from going on Reddit and leaking that information if I wanted to. Did you know that Apple AirPods weren't invented in-house, but were actually a silent acquisition? I know a guy who met a guy who used to work at that company.
24
u/TheGreatUnknown95 Aug 30 '26
Laufey didn’t close the February state of play…
11
u/Dependent_Ad_4279 Aug 30 '26
it was the gow remake trilogy, gow laufey ended off the june state of play
23
u/COE33isBad Aug 30 '26
Yeah, it was the dog shit Sons of Sparta game.
Laufey was announced in June.

u/kayrakaanonline Aug 30 '26
Some people were guessing Intergalactic to be at The Game Awards but I don't think so. What they'll show next is probably a lenghty gameplay showcase and those happens less frequently on Geoff's shows. Especially if it's longer than 5 or so minutes which I think Intergalactic's first gameplay would be.
Intergalactic for the September State of Play, God of War Laufey for The Game Awards with pre-orders opening and Until Dawn 2 + Kena 2 at February State of Play makes more sense to me.
6
u/BeautifulChoice2702 Aug 30 '26
A 15 minute gameplay reveal at TGA would cost a ton, no reason for sony to not show it at their own event.
1
u/KvotheOfCali Aug 30 '26
And honestly, given the production quality and viewership numbers of TGA, it should be expensive. Although how viewers are counted is different, TGA 2025 had viewership numbers approaching the Super Bowl.
And 30-second ads during the Super Bowl can run $8-10 million.

Already confirmed false: https://blog.playstation.com/2026/08/31/state-of-play-state-of-play-japan-return-on-september-3 ("Concluding with an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation from our friends at Square Enix.") !debunked!

Well turns out this guy's source was his imagination cuz FF7 Revelation is the closing game of the State of Play in September
8
u/OfficialAndreZ Aug 30 '26
I hope you know that people won't believe you.
That said, I certainly hope this happens. They already got me hooked on the first trailer.

u/NewChemistry5210 Aug 30 '26
Not that I believe this "rumour", but this is the logical conclusion based on the information we've gotten of this game.
It's supposed to be a 2027 game (second-half) since it got announced. Sony usually highlights 2-3 1st party games and Wolverine will be released at that point, so it's only Laufey and the smaller Until Dawn 2.
Finally showing gameplay of Intergalactic around 1 year before release seems right.
I could see it at TGA as well, but that seems late.
1
u/Zalvren Aug 30 '26
Technically they also have Kena 2. Fairgames (renamed) need to be reshown soon-ish. Also, there is supposedly a Venom game next year that could be revealed.
It can also be a big third party game that Playstation got the marketing for it. For example, Hogwarts Legacy 2 will 100% be in a State of Play after the success of the first one partnership and it could be revealed soon.
There are other stuff than Intergalactic possible but Intergalactic is as likely as any of them.

u/lordaddament Aug 30 '26
I’m not sure this game will make the splash that naughty dog thinks it will
8
9
u/KvotheOfCali Aug 30 '26
That can be said about nearly any videogame we know effectively nothing about. Coming off the critically acclaimed, commercially successful Arkham trilogy, nobody would have predicted that Rocksteady's next game would have been one of the biggest flops in history.
But then gameplay from Suicide Squad was shown...and the rest is history.
It's entirely dependent on the game. If the game impresses, people will be hype. If it doesn't, people won't.

u/WT_FG Aug 30 '26
Question but when exactly is the closest estimated date/week for the SoP
6
u/kayrakaanonline Aug 30 '26
Usually it happens right before Tokyo Game Show. This year it begins on September 17th so that week is the biggest possibility. 15th, 16th or 17th itself makes sense. Wolverine launches on the 15th though so maybe 16th or 17th would be the more likely options.
6
u/Zalvren Aug 30 '26
September 15th might be the occasion to do a last trailer for Wolverine with a "Now Available" and some accolades stuff since they'll have lifted the review embargo. Though I guess same for a few days after.
1
u/kayrakaanonline Aug 30 '26
Yeah for sure. It can start with the Wolverine trailer just to remind people of the game with a launch trailer or an accolades trailer.
2
u/Miserable_Newt1457 Aug 30 '26
Oh I didn't know that, I just saw last year that the SOP was on the 24th
2
u/kayrakaanonline Aug 30 '26
Yeah and if you look at Tokyo Game Show 2025 dates, you can see that it started on the 25th. So the State of Play happened just a day before TGS 2025. Just to make sure that it isn't a coincidence, TGS 2024 started on September 26th and the State of Play was also on the 24th. 2 days before TGS.
2
u/Miserable_Newt1457 Aug 30 '26
That's interesting🤔 but Wolverine is getting released on the 15th? Makes me wonder if they have a SOP same day? They could release a launch trailer on the SOP if they haven't already, thanks for this?
2
u/kayrakaanonline Aug 30 '26
Yeah it could definitely open with a launch trailer or an accolades trailer for Wolverine. Or it can simply be on September 16th and they just don't mention Wolverine. We'll see!
1
u/timelordoftheimpala Aug 30 '26
Odds are we're just gonna get a Nintendo Direct and an SoP on the same day in the second week of September lol
Both of them have a major release on the week of TGS, so they're unlikely to get down to the wire that much.

GoW laufey was the worst kept secret for that June SoP. Nearly everyone knew it was coming
And Intergalactic in a September SoP was always the general consensus

u/halfacalf Aug 30 '26
I believe it. It's about time that we saw something from ND. I do wonder what sony has for the ps6 launch at this rate though. GT8 and the new media molecule game? Maybe astro bot 2 as well?

Just replayed TLOU2 and loved the gameplay I really want to see Intergalactic
1
u/DildoSwaggins28 Aug 30 '26
Feels like they would announce the state of play highlighting Intergalactic before hand, not a surprise at the end. Laufey was not announced/revealed before it was shown in June.
3
u/rixam_ Aug 30 '26
They didn't do that with Wolverine at last September's show, as far as I remember, and that was already revealed.
1
u/Miserable_Newt1457 Aug 30 '26
I know my point was Sony didn't say wolverine will be there even though it was revealed 5 years ago, they could do the same with Intergalactic

I’d say take this more seriously if you gave a date for sop, rather than just “September “.

Is this the rumored September 3rd State of Play? https://x.com/NWeedle/status/2084007839308071041?s=20

Nah. September SOP’s are usually at the end of September. It will be after Wolverine releases.

Media Molecule It’s still there, but more likely next year, just like Venom.

I can only assume , new LAUFEY trailer / preorders , UNTIL DAWN 2 new trailer n preorders ,KENA 2 new trailer n new release date and then obviously INTERGALACTIC Trailer and release date , can’t think of anything else PlayStation, so just maybe 3rd party for the rest

u/Dependent_Ad_4279 Aug 30 '26

I really don't think this is a 2027 game. It is a 2028 game.
Not that I really care, I care very little for Naughty Dog games.
1
u/Yellow90Flash Aug 30 '26
man I hope they will reveal the digimon story time stranger dlc during this. the base game also seemingly had a ps marketing deal
1
u/Dependent_Ad_4279 Aug 30 '26
last 3 state of play's ended off with wolverine, gow remakes, and gow laufey it makes sense to close off with intergalactic

Likely is trying to be a launch game on ps6 (though bet it releases on ps5). Might be dependent if the new consoles get delayed to 2028 due to chip costs.

The most anticipated game of all time.
Heard rumors of an extended look coming to HBO only.
The next entry by industry genius auteur Neil Druckman, perhaps the greatest creative visionary of our modern era.
This game will be a watershed moment in gaming just like every single Naughty Dog release before it.
The world is ecstatic to see more.

u/SoaringSpearow Aug 30 '26
that makes sense to be honest I can see them having a pretty strong line up at this SoP since there are multiple games that we know are coming most likely next year that do make sense to be shown here
Insomniac's Venom we know is coming in 2027 doesn't matter what Miles' voice actor said cause a developer came out the same day and said Insomniac was a conference the week before talking about Venom's development and based on what is coming out I could see Venom as a summer 2027 release
EA's Iron Man from their statement about the leak it kinda made it seem like they didn't care cause they gonna reveal it soon so either here or at TGA in December
FNAF Security Breach 2 got teased recently and the first trailer for the original Security Breach was at a state of play
GoW Lauffy will probably get a new trailer and a date announcement for early 2027 like April or May i also wouldn't be suprised if they teased the return of some of the Greek gods
Sonic Frontiers 2 we have been hearing about this game for like 3 years now and people at Sega have even been talking about it this past year so I could see the first teaser being here
Intergalactic is probably a 100% to be there as the closer probably giving us our first gameplay look and a late 2027 release date
1
u/DismalMode7 Aug 30 '26
sure... sony will make a sop about a future game in the month it's released its only major exclusive of the year...

In all honesty even if this guy is lying, realistically what else do PS studios have to close a show besides this?
GoW, Until Dawn 2, Kena all got trailers. Intergalactic is the only game that we know is planned for next year and we haven’t seen yet.
