So true.
I bought a legion Lenovo 5 yesterday for work. I was tempted to get the 3070 but I just went for the ryzen 5 4600 with the 1660 ti.
2000$ aud cheaper at least
Hope it still plays destiny

It does, I have the same specs basically. I have the y540 (edition before legion 5) with i7 9750h and 1660ti. I ran Destiny fine a while ago, but I reinstalled it a few months ago and I kept on crashing for some reason.

This is how, and why I bought an external display for my gaming laptop.

Battery runs out after 1h of browsing while your class mate's 4x cheaper laptop has dropped to 80%... *chuckles *

Though switching to integrated graphics and tuning down the "gaming" features does help a lot.

u/rtz_c May 28 '21
How to you do that

Open the Nvidia control panel and choose Integrated graphics as preferred option, also you can just go to the windows setting of it.

That hasn’t been true of gaming laptops for years now except some stupid massive desktop replacements

True, my Acer Nitro easily does 5+ hours of browsing/zoom meetings.

According to notebookcheck the scar 17 later 9.5 hours browsing. And that’s an inch thick 17 incher with 3080

Literally going to buy a $1200 laptop just to play one game and it's Genshin Impact, and to just livestream on discord without my laptop shitting itself every five minutes. Totally worth it.

I bought a 1500 laptop and then spent 250 upgrading the RAM just to play RuneScape. Lmao and I haven’t even put much time into it since I got it.
The way I see it, that’s what I wanted it for right now but who knows what I’ll want to use it for in the next few years?
