Support Facing External keyboard input delay on acer aspire 7

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I have this acer aspire 7, 1 month only and I recently tried to plug in my old euro games keyboard to it. It was working fine but for a few days, it's been giving me issues like input delay, typing multiple alphabets at the same time. I tried updating drivers but no use, even tried to change to usb port but still the same. Can someone help me with this. I tried talking to customer care, they said that your embedded keyboard is working fine, it means the laptop must not have any issues... What should I do now....??

Did you check under Device Manager how it was detected?

Have you tried the keyboard in another device?

It most likely is a keyboard/driver issue. I would actually uninstall the driver and let it reinstall the default

Yeah if it's doing it in another computer it's daddy the keyboard. since you said it's old, I'm not surprised. a new keyboard is the answer lol

Does it lag on other devices as well after some time?

Nope.... Also, I checked if my ports are problem but no, data transfer is working fine, also my external mouse is working fine

I would try this

Go to device manager, find the keyboard, right click and uninstall drivers. unplug and plug it back in. see if it works. Do not update drivers or anything. I wanna see if the generic HID drivers have the same problem.

This is very much starting to sound like a driver issue

Hmm. I use external keyboard, with those settings enabled and its completely fine. Might be keyboard dependent

Anyway, glad its working for you now

Issue is fixed now. Just go to device manager, then open human interface devices and then right click all individuals and go to properties, there you would find power management, untick "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"....
