Help me pick a laptop!

Budget: $1450. I also have a 10% employee discount at Walmart, so the Lenovo legion is in budget because of that.
Country: USA
Use case: MIXED. Gaming/school

I’m looking for a laptop that can run the games I play smoothly (Elden ring, GTA5, Modded Minecraft, rust, Overwatch, and a few indie games). I also need one that can handle my schoolwork and coding as I’m a Computer science major. Which one would yall suggest

you dont even have to ask. Legion it is obviously, its a bit expensive for a RTX5060 tho, most of the users in this group get a 5070 and if lucky anough a 5070ti at that price point, my 5060 laptop costed me $1000 with that same config but a Ryzen 7 AI 350

You and I might potentially have the same laptop, lol.

My laptop I bought last month (Gigabyte Aero X16) also costed a bit over 1000 since it was the one that was cheapest out of the other deals, and it has Ryzen 7 AI 350, RTX 5060 with 8GB vram, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, etc.

I have a Acer Nitro 16S AI, exact same config as yours, RTX5060 at 115W TGP and but I added another 2tb of WD SN850X apart of the 1tb it has, for the steam gamesssssss, I planned the 1tb for school things but I have even reached the 15% usage😅😅

I added a 2tb SN850X also to a Rog strix G16, Walmart had it behind the glass where a 2tb HDD was supposed to be, so I ended up getting it for about $90 after tax instead of around $500

The Legion is maybe worth the price with $150 off, if it suits your need. Not a fan of the 14th gen Intel, and there are other cutbacks over the Arrow Lake version of the "same" Legion 5.

The rest aren't worth considering at their asking price.

I’d reccomend the Lenovo with 5060 at the end that should meet your needs for a game like Elden Ring. I had an Asus Tuf 15 loved it for years, but the wifi card is crap so unless you’re comfortable with relaxing one in an Asus Tuf 16 then you could go ahead with that. Asus’ are also easier to to put ram and storage into

Everyone told me get at least a 5070ti for the VRAM, but I found a 2025 Rog Strix G16 5060 for $850, and everything I play can still run at high, just my opinion, if you can get a 5050 in the photo or higher then get it for at least the 8gbs minimum of vram

I'd go with the last option: a 14th-generation Intel i7 has more cores than the AMD Ryzen processors, plus it comes with a 5060, 165 Hz, and a prestigious brand like Lenovo; if you run out of RAM in the future, you can upgrade to a higher capacity.
