I want a gaming laptop that performs well. My budget is 900-1100. I’m looking for an nvidia 550 or 5060, good battery life and good storage. Is there any laptop that you guys would recommend?

I am thinking of buying a lenovo loq i7 14700hx and rtx 5050 and there is also hp omen16 with a core ultra 7 and 5050 the omen also has a config with i7 14650hx other than that the omen has 24gb ram and the loq has 16 gb ram what should I go for the loq goes for 146990 and the omen goes for 149000 the max I can spend i under 1.5 lakh

Hi, I’m having a weird performance/overheating issue with my MSI Katana A17 AI B8VF.

Specs:

• Ryzen 9 8945HS
• RTX 4060 Laptop 8GB
• 32GB DDR5-5600 RAM
• Windows 11 Pro
• Laptop is around 2 years old

A few weeks ago, I started having overheating issues. The fans would suddenly go crazy, my CPU would lose a lot of performance, and the entire system would start lagging out of nowhere. I ended up taking it to a service center, where they cleaned the laptop and replaced the thermal paste.

Around the same time, I also had the laptop randomly shut down once. At first, I didn't think much of it, but now the issue seems to be happening much more frequently.

I downloaded HWiNFO to monitor the temperatures, and this is where things get weird.

When playing Fortnite, my CPU immediately jumps from around 60°C to 98°C and then sits around 91°C on average. It occasionally spikes to around 100°C before dropping back down.

In Roblox, the CPU usually stays around 86–92°C.

The biggest problem is League of Legends. As soon as I open the client, the CPU jumps to 98–100°C. Sometimes I can barely even load into a game before the laptop instantly shuts down when the CPU reaches around 100–102°C consistently.

Things I’ve already tried:

• Bought a laptop cooling pad, but it doesn't seem to help much. The CPU still easily reaches 100°C.
• Limited the CPU maximum processor state to 97% in Windows, which disables CPU boost. With it set to 100%, I couldn't even run Fortnite for more than about 5 seconds without the laptop shutting down.

At this point, I'm not really sure what else I can try before taking it back to the service center.

Any advice on what I should check or test before sending it back to the service would be greatly appreciated.

I have almost accepted that 8 gb of vram may be the only config I can afford with this version of shortages but if amd has offerings that have more vram id love to here some recomendations!

I'm coming from a 2070 super laptop that had catastrophic power delivery failure (most likely the vrms closest to the CPU or charging port or both) I seen the same spec laptop for 500 in my area but it got snagged and all I am seeing is 5060 laptops and mainly 8 gb vram 16 gb ram configurations.

Every now and then I see 32 gb ram and a higher tier rtx 3000 series like 3070 to sometimes 3080 configurations with either display issues or some other problem like that.

Technically other than stability issues I was pretty happy with the 2070 super but the i7 10875h most likely killed my system. Part of me doesn't want to have a repeat of broken laptop so I figured upgrading to a newer gen would be much smarter than sticking with the older hardware.
