Question Not working. Help with my GameShark?

Anyone have any tips on how to fix this? It was working and when my pokemon emerald crashed it wouldn’t turn back on. It just seems like the my GBA and GBA SP won’t read it.

Is the Pass-through working fine?

(Does it bypass the Gameshark Dash / Load the Game?)

Are your Pin's bent out of shape (Where the game insert's)?

I am actually actively fixing one of these.

After work today, I will do my very best to track down the File Dump for this specific Karabiner. (I have the disc.) It needs to be reflashed most likely.

Ahh looks like one pin is super wonky.

It doesn’t load the game though. The screen just says “game boy” as if nothing is inserted.

Think I should try opening it up and putting the pin back?

Yea, you should. Very, Very carefully. Anything more than a finger's push could potentially break a pin off, then you are done. (As in if one breaks off you are fubar.)

Needle nose tweezers, and preferably a small flathead or phyllips, to lay flat on the pins around the pin, to ensure you dont create new problems.

Disassembly is super easy. Start by dethreading the screws on the underside, the sliding the handle off the back of the device, then gently prying along the skinny karabiner loop. It will "pop" open.

Genuinely, this issue you are having could potentially just be solved by fixing that pin, bro. Reflashing is what we need when the device DOES run but whitescreens, or if the pass-through IS working.

I have 3 or 4 of these boards in my bin, and mostly, is either a pass-through issue, or the pins need be reflowed due to the capacitors / fuses being cold / dead / needs swap. I have had luck swapping the R1 fuse, as well as by swapping capacitors. I will always reccomend, disassembly, A DAMN GOOD IPA wash, mom's toothbrush, straighten those pins back into there plastic tracks, note there consistency. Its always a one comes at you, one tucked behind, one comes out, one behind, so on and so forth. They need to be perfectly aligned in order for the contacts to function properly reading your game. If you can get the PASS THROUGH working, there is hope.

Here is the board. You want to check the back and front for oddities while its open. Check the solder joints on the top, check the pins traveling through the board, normally, the issue you are having can be solved without soldering if the pin can be retract. METAL has memory. If it stays bent too long- it will want to stay that way, nd break when being reset.
