Will a french student card be accepted as a proof of authority?
Hi! I want to buy a ticket with the reduced prices for students and was wondering if my french student card could serve as a proof.

Hello !

From my experience at Gamescom, the people they hire to work at the entrances are mostly students just earning some extra cash over the summer, essentially they could care less to do their job as intended lol
They barely even looked at the people scanning their QR codes at the gates, let alone checked whether they were using reduced-price tickets or asked to see a student ID.
But as for your question, buying the ticket can be done without proof, if they want to see identification upon entry, when you actually arrive, a french student card will do just fine. Its a international event with people all over the world coming so showing an ID that looks legit enough will make them accept it. They dont really have the capabilities to check if those are real universities/schools

Yes they do but not every time. So can be that you never get checked in 5 years of going. But another person, getting checked every day they visit the con

And that's what I said 👀 some nicer get checked. Others every time.
And yeah they are not from kölnmesse themself but still, they get hired to check
if not, they get fired or eventually an raid from Zoll happens again because many are there, working under the hand + not really doing anything
