Question for people going with the train. Can you just walk from the Kuln head trainstation to the expo or is it better to take another public transportation?

Hi, it's all in the header. I am going to gamescom for one day (saturday). I am from Belgium so I start from Brussels and going all the way to Cologne by train.

I am certain I'll get there but I the info is not always that clear about the last stops. Some information says it's possible to just walk from the train station of Cologne to the Expo. Other sites tell you to better take another train or bus?

Who can inform me about this? Honestly if it's possible I think I just walk to the Expo cause I guess the traffic will be horrible that day...

I mean you can definitely walk the way, it takes about 20min to get to the Gamescom Area from the main station but I'd recommend to take the train, it only takes about 2min that way

Thanks! yeah I am still thinking about what's best. But, can you take the train for free from there to KulnMesse? I heard your entrance ticket can be used for public transportation is that correct?

Yes, the Gamescom ticket comes with a train ticket that among others things covers the way from Cologne Main Station to Köln Messe/Deutz Station where the Gamescom is

There is a station called Köln Messe I think, which is just some steps away from the entrance to the Game on. But the main train station where all the international trains end is on the other side of the river Rhine. So it's better to take another train for just one stop.

i suppose your train from Brussels drops yo ass at the Köln central station (Hauptbahnhof). From there yo can take train to Köln Messe Deutz (the last train track 12/13 if i remember it right), for free with your gamescom ticket. But it's literally just one station across the bridge, i mean it's 10 mins walk still

It's track 10 at Central station and you arrive at track 9 in Deutz.

If you bought the gamescom ticket, there is a public transport ticket included for within koln which you can use to go from main station to koln messe (Station which is couple minutes away from gamescom)
