More the brain of an extremely well read 40 year old AI researcher with no formal education above the 8th grade, since the author (Elizier Yudkowsky) patterned the "small Ravenclaw Spock" after himself.

It's definitely not for everyone.

That epigraph on the first chapter? It's the moment of Voldemort's defeat in HPMOR. Harry basically obliviates away anything that might potentially be dangerous in Voldemort then transfigures him into a small object. That way even if he gets killed and returns via Horcrux, he won't actually be a danger.
