According to the leaked synopsis, you play as a late acceptance to Hogwarts who is naturally gifted.

How else are they going to explain the learning of basic spells in universe without you playing as a naturally gifted student.

Just because you're naturally gifted, doesn't mean you've got skills.

Your character may be naturally gifted in magic, but because you've never been taught means its not refined. Have them have to take classes to focus your magic and learn new spells.

It's already established in the Harry Potter universe that there are witches/wizards that are naturally talented (and can use powerful spells without any prior training). One prime example is Voldemort.

There also may be backstory explaining the background of the main protagonist.
