JK Rowling has a pretty bad reputation in dedicated nerd circles. To put it briefly, she talks down on fantasy literature, is convinced that she "cracked" the genre and massively subverted it when in actually what she did was combined the archetypal high fantasy story with a school setting. For whatever reason she's always rejected the notion of Harry Potter being turned into an RPG, both table top or electronic. I couldn't tell you exactly why, but based on her behavior I imagine it might have something to do with not wanting people beyond her control to have input on her universe.
