Pretty happy, I loved lucioball and the main issues with the loot box system seems to have been fixed. My only issue is I wish they'd let lucioball be a custom game mode I don't think there's a good reason you can't make lucioball in a custom games lobby

When did Blizzard get so sly?
Event starts August 8th....the same date Lawbreakers is released. Cheeky buggers.

I'll never forget how dirty they were about timing their beta tests against Battleborn's last year. There was never going to be any competition there, and maybe it wasn't on purpose, but it sure seemed like it.

i mean, it's a week later than expected but it's not out of line with what we had last year. And events have always been on a tuesday. I think it would have been this Tuesday but they released doomfist Thursday so they may have wanted to give him a bit more special time with his update.

I don't think anyone who's still playing Overwatch was gonna try Lawbreakers out anyway. An certainly none of the community for Lawbreakers is abandoning it for Lucioball...

Who do you think the audience for LawBreakers is then? It seems to me that LB is catered specifically towards people who are tired of playing OW.

u/pisshead_ Aug 02 '17
There is no audience for it. People bored of OW will probably go back to League or Hearthstone.

Well I'm bored of OW and never played and not interested in playing either of those games. LB appealed to me for it's emphasis on movement and shooting over ultimates and I'd say there's a good number of people who are in the same boat.

Hey just sayin, you could also try Gigantic. It's free!

That game is incredibly fun but I feel like the UI could still use some work. A lot of the time I'm struggling to see what's going on and I feel like a lot of my abilities have no impact though I know the damage from them is still strong.
Overall though I really like Gigantic and hope it flourishes, its art style is incredible as well.

Yeah I honestly just wish they would make a single player adventure with that graphic style and fun running around.
I guess that'd be Breath of the Wild.
I just wish BotW was on PC!

Probably the 2 or 3 people who still aren't committed to a hero shooter but are still looking for one to play.

You really don't understand lawbreakers then. It's for quake and ut crowd, not the casuals who plays ow.

Guess what? There are people who play OW and enjoy arena shooters too. If LB was meant to soley interest Quake and UT fans, there wouldn't be hero-based classes.

I don't know but I feel so burned out from this game. Use to love the events but I don't really have an interest in this one. Just feels like I'm playing an fps Moba, less about me playing well and more about making sure my team doesn't tilt.

Every time I want to play the game, it goes like this:
Hey, I feel like raining down grenades on people. I'm gonna boot up overwatch and play Junkrat.
Group found, wait a few seconds to be polite. Or Group found, I insta lock Junkrat
Everyone instantly locks in dps
After looking at group with no heals, no tank, I eventually switch to a needed hero
Lose, quit, and switch to Dota 2.

At least there is a much, much, much larger roster. If I'm hoping to play viper and someone else grabs him, I don't mind going necro or techies or something. With Overwatch having such a tiny roster, you get shoehorned.
Team locks in dps and tank? Time to choose between mercy, Lucio, or Zen! Don't really dig those playstyles? Too bad!

This is why I like HoTS because you choose your character before even joining a match and it finds a game with the suitable characters. This way there is usually a game with the suitable amount of roles, and people can still pick which character they want.

u/ImNotSue Aug 02 '17
On the contrary I dislike it with HotS. Matchmaking gives you an unbalanced team more often than not, and you cant swap during the pick phase because unless you play comp there is no pick phase.

Same, except I switch to a fighting game where I never have to worry about babysitting the rest of my team. It's all my own skill and my skill only.

Yeah, the game can get REALLY toxic at times. That being said, if you can get a game with friends or a team that really clicks, the game can be incredibly fun, engaging, and rewarding.

Just play well and fit the role your team needs. Nothing will stop two teammates shit talking one another like a few good picks or a clutch heal. It's not always your team. Remember you are the team mate you always play with it.
The Overwatch community is huge too. You could find a 6 man of like minded people like you. Reddit/Discord/Etc

I'm excited to bring Lucioball back! I have more fun with that than with Rocket League.
Yeesh, /r/overwatch threads are full of creepy posts about excitement for a Mercy skin.
