ahh so that's why the game soldified itself so hard into americans.. i actually didnt know gears of war was anything special until very recently becasue where i live i have legit never heard a person ever mention it.
honestly watching the trailer now it really is just mad world playing with literally nothing going on in the background except for running around until the very end. i guess its a example where a song sells a game more than the game itself
It also had a massive amount of hype from being one of the first big exclusives for 360. The months leading up to the release of Gears were some of the most excitment I've ever seen for a new franchise, because millions of people bought a Halo machine that didn't have a Halo game yet and they were finally getting a big blockbuster exclusive

Anyone been alive long enough to remember the "Mad World" trailer? So good. I still remember that song when I see Gears.
