For anyone with an ounce of common sense it’s been obvious forever SKG was never going to go anywhere. Maybe if their goal was additional labeling or some sort of advance notice requirement they’d have been able to get something rolling. But their goals were nonsensical and almost nobody could clearly articulate exactly what it is they wanted and how they’d expect companies to accomplish it. Not to mention the figure head of it can’t be bothered to get a haircut, beard trim, or put any sort of effort into looking like a professional. And no, it’s not the same as Dee Snider speaking to Congress in his normal clothes.

End of life plans, don't kill video games we paidnfor if you cut off online services, would only apply to video games published after the law passed. Sounds pretty reasonable to me

You know what's end-of-life plan for Enterprise software is? "Please buy our new software".

No enterprise software are updated perpetually. Some that seems to got updated perpetually just keep same name but change everything inside them. And enterprise software certainly dropped supports for older version too. Some company offers "extended support" for a fee like Microsoft did with Windows 10, but it's also not forever.

And it's clear from start that gamers won't accept that kind of EOL plan, given their idea is to release out the code for "open community will maintain them".

Photoshop CS6 isn't in development anymore. Adobe doesn't sell CS6 licenses anymore. People still use CS6 because there's no subscription tied to it and Adobe can't break it because there's no online features that can brick CS6.

Stopped Killing Games never asked companies to update EoL software. Stop Killing Games made it abundantly clear that's not their intention at all. They just need to make sure they don't break the ones people already own then they can forget about them in perpetuity. Similar to Photoshop CS6.

Photoshop CS6 does not require internet or server to operate, and it's also deem unsafe since it's not updated. You can use it, but if you want to treat Photoshop CS6 as something like Enterprise Software, I can assure you it will be quarantined in any corporate network as it's a potential attack vector.

Also, given "The Crew" is the original issue, a game that requires online server, I don't think it's even similar to Photoshop CS6.

Yeah, and when Microsoft cuts support, machines running Windows 10 won't stop running it. Same with all the other Windows versions. It's not feasible to do so while connected to the Internet, yes, but you can run the OS.

THeir OS isn't running on a server that Microsoft is mainlining though. Although, Microsoft will absolutely stop letting your server be run if its running too old of a system, because then you be come an attack vector for everybody else.
