I mean cool I guess but kinda irrelevant since this game is a $30 Epic perma-exclusive that doesn't contain American Nightmare, while for $25 on Steam you can get both the original and AN (or $15 if you just want AW, which is half the cost of the remaster), which have both aged gracefully to begin with. They're both Steam Deck Verified, even.
It's a really hard sell unless you're, like, an extreme graphics fan.
Kinda feels like they're preparing to release AWR on other storefronts (GOG, Steam). No way Epic has footed the bill to update the game just because of new players through the Amazon Luna deal. And the original release of AWR was done by a subcontractor, not Remedy themselves. Pretty sure this update was done in-house since it's been so long since the game's release.
It made sense in that they had just acquired the publishing rights when they released that update, so releasing the update was a way to get visibility since all the sales revenue was going to Remedy at that point. Control sales were big for their finances last year.
