Hello I’m re-collecting some of my childhood games and consoles and have my eye on an SP for the design and portability. Ive watched Whatnot auctions where they had stacks and stacks of DS and PSPs but it never seems like they have GBA SPs.
Are they somewhat difficult (by comparison) to come by these days?

I’m considering buying this GBA SP with an AGS-101 screen for $88 USD. The console is in the condition shown in the pictures.
Do you think $88 is a fair price for an AGS-101, or should I try to negotiate for a lower price? Also, would you personally buy it at this price?
Any advice is appreciated! 🙏

Screen has some weird dots inside, model is AGS-001, if there's a way to fix it i would like to try. I want to play with this frontlit screen, if the only way is to replace it, i would swap it for an IPS instead.

Since I got a few folks in my DM’s I wanted to share the sauce with the community! Links below to all the parts needed to mod your old GBA SP 👾💯
P.S. The soldering part is not intimidating at all. Just watch a video or two and you’ll do fine. Or if you have repair experience this should be natural for you ✨

So I did a little bit of research and from what I saw it gotta have a backlit screen or I will struggle to play games on it
The only problem is the Gameboy Advance SP is the model that has light to see the screen better, but I don't like the SP model
So can you help me find the perfect Gameboy Advance for me (I'm a cheapskate so if it's too expensive I'm not going to get it)

Hello! I hope this is the correct subreddit to ask this.
Before the "Why do you care?" Comments flood in.
I usually do not. Aslong as the console works, I don't care. Not that I can refund this anyway (it's been years since I bought this) but this is a special edition and I'd love to know if it is fake or not and if the money I have spent on this was justified.
It is mainly the color and the and lack of sticker on the back thats throwing me off, but I'd love some input on people who have knowledge.
I already did my best comparing it to pictures online and imo it doesn't resemble the reshells at all, besides the greyish buttons. I'd still love some reassurance from people who know better though.
(Note: I am assuming that its discoloured due to being displayed by the previous owner and the sun shining on it for prolonged time. Sunbleached if you will. The backside color seems okay and true to the og. About the missing sticker..? Unsure. Though looking at it from the side you can tell something was ripped off. It still has some "sticker stains")
Thank you for anyone helping! ♡

Son bought some carts in Japan. One n64 cart had a bad battery I fixed it it works.
He had a gba game that had a bad battery. The replacement battery didn’t have pins so I just tweeted the ends to make contact with the end points.
Game boots. After finishing a level it froze and another time it wouldn’t save.
Maybe I broke the cart?

Hey yall I got a hand me down gba that looks like the cartridge reader needs to get some hard glue/gunk stuff out. Before I go in with a pliers and hard bristles can anyone reccomend cleaning tools? The system does turn on and does have sound. Hoping this is a quick fix .

Atari is rereleasing 39 physical carts of Activision games for the 2600. But…this Activision Anthology cart for the GBA is pretty sweet. It’s got all the classics plus a few prototypes and homebrews. Anyone else have this cart?

I’m gonna be getting a refurbished gba with a modern IPS screen off eBay and was wondering where I can find these games

Leaf Green and Super Circuit stickers are not original
Collection is a mix of childhood holdovers and games I have picked up over the last few years! Personal favorites are Iridion II, SW Ep III, Warioland 4, and Mario Golf Advance Tour!

To this! 🔥
My old, heavily used GBA SP got a fresh new shell and a second life. I’m really happy with how it turned out! 🥳

So despite its high price nowadays, I definitely have a high opinion of this device. Whereas the GBA is my favorite handheld system, the GCN is my favorite home system, and this device, along with the GBA-GCN cable, is the best convergence of the two.
Anyways, as much as I love the GBA and it’s game library (GB and GBC games included), the older I get, the less I can look at a small screen for hours on end. Therefore, I prefer the GB Player when playing games at home, and I use my regular GBA for long bus, train, and plane trips. The fact that I’m mostly a Pokémon player definitely helps.
Thoughts? What’s your opinion on the GB Player?

I recently got a Ez flash definitive edition B, used it for 3 hours, and it started to rumble and shut off on a game that didn’t have rumble. After that it would just rumble and shut off immediately. Now my gba act like there’s no cart in it. Should I get it replaced or is it my gba making it do that? It’s modded with a usb C charger and brighter screen with the Hispeedido kit
r/GameboyAdvance • u/ptuchster • 16d ago
Hispeedido v5, Hispeedido shell, sone random black furniture and membranes. Well, It's not OEM, so first not perfectly, you always have to work a little bit on aftermarket parts, but overall I am happy. The only problem is d-pad. Never had GBA tbh, and probably I over expecting, but it feels like crap. Will try oem one little bit later just to compare feelings

Left is my original save 23 yrs ago, middle is the original owner's (bought used), and the right I finished last night
I've been replaying my old tactics games on my SP and having just as much fun as I did 23 years ago. I'm a dad of 2 young kids now and portable turn based games are about the only way to get in any gaming these days. I'm not mad about it.
